Everything after that felt like a blur of nerves. The overwhelming relief of finding her alive. The anger that followed immediately behind it. The bitterness of learning how much she had hidden. The half-finished explanations that turned into shouting matches and desperate pleas in a cheap hotel room outside Cairo. He could still remember pacing while she sat on the edge of the bed, both of them exhausted, both convinced they were right, both terrified in entirely different ways. He had been given less than three days to absorb the fact that she was alive, that she loved him, that they had a daughter together, and that he was expected to walk away again almost immediately afterward.  The rules were simple. Limited contact. No unnecessary questions. No involvement unless absolutely necessary. The less he knew, the safer everyone would be. At first, Tony refused. Violently. Ziva had always had a habit of carrying impossible burdens by herself and calling it protection. She justified isolation as sacrifice, danger as responsibility, and if it had only been the two of them, he would have ignored every warning she gave him. He would have stayed. He would have hunted every shadow beside her and fought every invisible enemy she thought was coming. But this time they were not alone. This time there was Tali. And the moment Ziva said her name, the entire argument changed. Suddenly it was no longer about what he wanted but about what they could risk. Tony volunteered himself for the danger immediately. Let him stay. Let him be the one in the line of fire. Let him protect her. But Ziva insisted that this fight belonged to her, that the only chance they had was if one of them remained behind to keep Tali safe, and for perhaps the first time in his life Tony found himself without an argument strong enough to counter that. He could not risk losing their daughter. He could not risk leaving her unprotected. So he did the one thing every instinct told him not to do. He left.

In his office at Salus Mondiale, Tony is in an online meeting with an important client. Meanwhile, Ziva is on her knees. Under his desk. Making him suffer.
