Thought I would share some of my tips/habits for ana, feel free to comment any you have!
Keep yourself busy. I find that when I keep myself constanlty busy or moving I eat less because I have less time to think about food.
Drinks. I drink a lotttt of water, peppermint tea, green tea, and zero sugar coke. Drink water/tea before and after your meals.
Eat things you like. If you eat things you like (within your calorie deficit ofc) it wont feel as hard to stay in your deficit.
Shit your mindset. This is probably the most helpful tip I can give. Once you start thinking like a skinny person you will become one. For example, skinny people dont focus on food its not important to them. Fake it until you make it.
Food is just fuel. Once you detach emotion or value from food and just see it as something you need to live, itll be easier to eat healthier/less.
Brushing your teeth, washing your face, or taking a shower right after you eat helps train your body to realize its done eating. Build a habit to do right after you eat. Chewing gum also works for me.
Learn to say no. Its hard at first but once you say no enough it wont really be a challenge anymore cause your used to it.
If you dont trust yourself around food or dont have control yet, remove yourself from the situation. If you just ate and feel like your about to binge or might eat more than your supposed to, leave the room. Go take a shower or go on a walk or leave the house if you have to.
Be constantly moving if you can. Walk a MINIMUM of 10k steps a day.
Eat infront of people. This makes it easier to hide because people will believe you eat because they see you eat. And if someone comments on the amount your eating say you ate a big meal eariler and are a little hungry again. Ana is all about lying tbh.
Be consistent. If you binged today, try again tmrw. If you stay consistent you will eventually get used to it and wont have to try as hard.
Take supplements. Your most likely going to be missing out on different vitamins and nutrients. I use a calorie counter app that tracks that stuff and then I look up how much of that nutrient I need in a day and try to find a supplement that gets me close to that number.
Electrolytes. These are so important to keep you functioning as best as you can. Trust me that brain fog and fatigue is going to be 10x worse without it.
Accept that fact its not going to feel good at first or really ever. When you first start its going to feel bad. Youll get headaches, brain fog, dizzy, feel sick, be tired, etc. Eventually youll get used to it and it wont be as intense but it wont 100% go away.
Remind yourself of why you started and your goals. Remind yourslef why binging has no benefits. I made a list of all the things that I can do once I lose the weight to keep me motivated.
Keep a routine that works for you. I have OCD so this is big for me. But I do pretty much the same things on the same days. For example every monday I follow a certain schedule, every tuesday I follow a certain schedule. I also find it easier to stay on track by eating the same thing everyday. It makes it easier to track and I dont have to stress about what to eat because its already planned.
Keeping gum and a safe drink with you at all times. I carry gum and my water bottle or a coke zero with me everywhere. If I feel hunrgy I chew gum or drink.
Also, if anyone wants to be moots, message me!!
