Just a little tuning mod I whipped up after seeing someone on Reddit had the same irritation I was having during my last gameplay session. I changed the post-coffee buzz crash duration to 0 so it may still be briefly visible before it disappears. This mod edits the Buffs tuning ("moodlets") so will conflict with any other mods that edit the same. If anyone is interested in adding this to another buffs mod they currently use I would be happy to edit/instruct on editing, just send me an ask or dm with a link.

I'm redoing all my mods lately and I'm trying to get more into CAS because I feel like I neglect my Sims' appearances in favor of gameplay and decorating.

While it seemed like we were entering an era of old-internet revival and indie websites in the fight against the dead-internet, a significant road block has emerged. Prices have inflated drastically for server parts, memory, storage, and server-hosting itself. This puts all non-profit online communities in peril.
As a result, the site owner has opened a Patreon so that the community can help cover the costs of keeping us online.
Important clarification:
The NRaas mods are NEVER going to be paywalled.
The project will remain open-source and free for everyone. Donations are optional.
These mods are still in active development!
The site and mods have been maintained by Chain_Reaction since Twallan's retirement, providing countless updates and support. Lots of cool stuff over there if you haven't updated in a hot minute.
There is no pressure to donate if your situation does not allow for it. Thank you for the consideration!
Long post ahead with information on the situation and some incentives for reaching membership goals.
If you've had some trouble accessing the site over the past week or so:
The situation is directly caused by the greed and encroachment of something we’re all uncomfortably familiar with: AI companies and the companies investing in them (of simmer relevance, that includes EA and Krafton (InZoi)).
NRaas is not the first nor will it be the last to be affected. Website servers already suffer from bots trawling and scraping their content – including your content that you write and share just about anywhere. Now they’re being bought off entirely.
Archives and file-hosting are at high risk. Myrient is a recent example of an archive that went offline for this very reason.
It can feel a bit grim, but I want to assure you that the burden isn't yours to bear as an individual. As a community, it's actually quite easy to become hostile - and more important, unprofitable - to these invasive species as it were.
The past 26 years of modding and storytelling was OVERWHELMINGLY built upon free software, non-profit websites, and shared resources. A few unscrupulous paywallers and corporate greed isn't going to rewrite that history. Greed is the minority - but it does try to eat everything in its path.
That's all I ask - if you enjoy the fruits of The Sims community or enjoy being a part of it, make it just a little more inconvenient to swallow us.
Do not tolerate GenAI in our community spaces.
Do not support EA or Krafton. Let obscurity and irrelevancy devour them.
Do participate in the community wherever you think you'd find a little piece of purpose - make a blog for your stories, come chat with us in the Chatterbox forum at NRaas, make your first mod.
Lastly:
In a separate post, I'll be posting some CC incentives that will be released as milestones are reached. This content will not be paywalled - it will be posted for free as thanks to the community.

This is my first ever CC! I absolutely adore this hair that comes with Midnight Hollow but it's extremely shiny, even by EA hair standards. All I did was turn down the specular so there's juuust enough to have a little visible texture with dark colors, and add a custom thumbnail. Otherwise, textures and controls are the same as the EA version.
Original hair not required, compatible with base game. YAF/AF only, maternity enabled, enabled for random. Known (minor) issues under the cut!

There's some janky texturing going on near the ends and idk how to fix that yet. It's more visible with lighter colors. The photos above were taken in-game, but the hair looks shinier in CAS and I'm not sure how to fix that either 🙃

Lately I've been really loving Neo-Bridgeport by @sarhxz, especially the newly developed area near the base of the bridge across from downtown. The residential lots have a classic suburban feel and there's a few things to do nearby without going into the city :)
I know no one here knows me well enough to care but it's my birthday and I'm kinda disappointed that only my husband and one of my friends said anything...another friend of mine texted me an inflammatory political meme at 3am which didn't feel great. I guess this is what it's like to be an adult :/ maybe I am too old to expect much now
Ok I haven't posted in a long time because, among other reasons, I couldn't figure out why my game was so laggy (read: I wouldn't admit to myself that I simply have too much CC). I think I've come up with a good solution in CC Magic configurations and doing some export/import shenanigans with CAS...this probably isn't a new idea but my goal was to only load CAS CC I'm actually using during gameplay, while still having access to a large variety for making Sims.
You need CC Magic and Multipack Installer for the workflow I've developed. I also recommend a very small world such as Sixty-four to minimize RAM usage while creating Sims.
Sort all your CC into sets in CC Magic. It doesn't matter how you choose to do this, but I do mine by creator and make a subset for Build, Buy, and CAS where applicable. The main goal is to separate CAS CC from any other CC.
Create a configuration in CC Magic that only has CAS sets. Create another config (or edit your Default config like I do) with everything else you normally use.
Switch to your CAS configuration in CC Magic and load your (optional) small neighborhood. If you don't want to install a custom world just use Sunset Valley or something.
Make all the Sims your heart desires. For each Sim you want in your game, click the dots next to their portrait at the bottom and select Share Sim. Once you are done, you can exit without saving.
Find your exported Sims in your Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Exports folder. Extract each .sims3pack with Multipack Installer. You will need to change the extension of these files from .package to .sim. This step is super important!
Place your extracted and renamed .sim files in your Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/SavedSims folder.
Load up your desired neighborhood to play in and enter Edit Town mode. From here you can enter CAS and select your Sims from the premade Sim bin. They will have any CC you used attached to them so you don't have to load all of your hoarder pile CAS CC!
