“why did you sneak out? if i can ask.”

“my friend layla decided i shouldn’t be in on halloween. i just suck at sneaking and got caught coming back in.”

“i’ve been alright. not gonna lie though, did a lot more supernatural research after halloween. and tried to learn at least some self defense. what about you?”

“been mostly cooped up in the house. cause i got caught sneaking out on halloween. so essentially i’ve been grounded.”

“let’s go,” she replied with a smile. “so, uh, how have you been lately?”

“well then, let’s find something, shall we?”

micah nodded. “yeah. sounds great.”

“good to know. but… awesome. where do you want to go?”

“oh see that i have no idea. i don’t even know what is around, really.”

“hey, i’m trying.”

micah chuckled. “yeah i’m not really much better. but i’d love to.”

he hesitated, looking her over for a moment. “you… wanna go get dinner or something?”

“wow you seem really committed there,” she said with a playful smile.

“are you alright? last time i saw you things were kind of crazy.”

“yeah i guess. hanging in there,” she replied with a shrug of her shoulders.”

“oh… hey, yeah, i’m alive.”

“hi. well that’s...that’s good.”

“can i help you?”

“just making sure you’re still alive.”

“I think it has just been knocked out of the favorite holiday spot.”

“i don’t know that i’d go that far but it’s definitely gonna take a whole year to not hate it.”

“i’m glad to see you in one piece.”

“you too,” she said simply.

micah looked up and nodded. “yeah it’s crazy. i don’t know if there’s hope for that,” she replied. “it’s not exactly the most calm place to be,” she admitted.

“fine. but stay behind me. at least give me that?”

“yeah, and all these monsters were killed by normal people in the end of their movies. micah, i don’t want anything to happen you.”
