I am eighteen and twenty-eight in one second. Wherever I go. My world drifts in a perpetual sway between melancholy and a lust for life. I can’t control old feelings. It’s always been a moody picture from the internet about driving at night. One with the streetlights on a foggy eve, I dissolve into the meaning I give them. I am the awe of the moment, the one buried without permission. I decide this has always been me. This is the quiet core, a long interruption of the soul. I cannot be kind to my heart. It wants pain. It likes it bland as well.

My heart and body love empty spaces. Why have someone tell you who you are when you’re the endless skyline of everything you have ever loved?

So this is the taste of ten years – grocery stores filled with gloom and IKEA stretching out like one long, beautiful grey cloud. I don’t want to cry. I jump away from the joy. I need eternity. The pain holds itself without thought. It sees the good and it likes people and things boring. Young doesn’t know boring if it’s high enough. What’s been dreamed about enough will always be enough. You can come back wide-eyed again and again.
