To figure out how Charcoal-Baked Ajilenakh Cake could be made, we first need to know what it's inspired from. This dish seems to be inspired by Idli, a popular South Indian breakfast food. The game takes inspiration from a specific variant called Charcoal Idli : named as such due to the use of activated charcoal.

Traditionally, Idlis are made by soaking Idli rice and lentils, then blending the rice and lentils into a batter, letting that batter ferment and then steaming it. They are usually paired with chutney, which is most likely what the "sauce bed" is meant to be in her dish.

There are two ingredients that set this recipe apart from regular Idli : the activated charcoal and the palm dates.

In cuisine, activated charcoal can be used to give food an earthy and smoky taste aswell as give the food a dark color. We know that the actived charcoal in this recipe is specifically derived from a coconut shell based on prior versions of this base dish's name.

We also know that Ajilenakh Nuts are based off of date palms since other languages (including Chinese), use their word for "date palm" to refer to Ajilenakh Nuts.

Now with all of that out of the way, let's start with the cake! As mentioned before, rice Idli (or Idli rava) and lentils are a part of the base batter. Then, we add coconut activated charcoal into the mix.

As for the dates, the in game description mentions they're usually roasted, powdered and then sieved into the cake mix. However, blending dates with water and turning it into a liquid paste should also work with this recipe.

Since this is meant to be Faruzan's recipe, the cakes should be baked in an oven as opposed to being steamed (this is based on one of her voice lines).

Now, on with the saucebed! The person who made the replica supposedly used salad dressing(1) for the sauce, but for accuracy sake the sauce would most likely be coconut chutney.

It follows the coconut that's used in the charcoal, it's the classic flavor of chutney and it serves as a white base we can dye. Though there should be a portion of the sauce left undyed for garnish.

To achieve the minty blue color seen in game, you can add Butterfly Pea Flower Powder and baking soda(2). The powder would turn the chutney purple. The baking soda will neutralize the powder, causing the sauce to change color!

(2)Again, I'm not fully sure if the translator I used can distinguish between baking soda and baking powder. Baking soda is a lot more concentrated than baking powder so keep that in mind!

Assemble the cakes and the dyed chutney, use the remaining undyed sauce to decorate and add a dollop in the middle, use some mint leaves for garnish and Voila! You've successfully made Faruzan's Traditionally-Made Charcoal-Baked Ajilenakh Cakes!
