gran pulse is freedom and home. nothing beat the fresh air and the feeling of grass and dirt underneath her bare soles, seeing lush flora and fauna nearly everywhere they look. cocoon, to fang, is nothing but rules and modernisation ━ so much grey and nitpicking about what is allowed and what not, giving its citizens a false sense of safety. the weird obsession of them to paint gran pulsians as feral and dangerous ( though, she can't exactly blame them. ) brings many of its own citizens in danger, pointing fingers in each other's direction to, often, falsely accuse one another of being a gran pulse l'cie.
hearing lightning's complaint makes fang shift on the rock she sits upon before she laughs. " aahh ━ the good ole gran pulse experience. don' tell me it's too much for ya. these behemoths ain't anything ", fang says with a grin thrown in lightning's direction. behemoths, while a challenge and a danger to the inexperienced, were a frequent enough foe for fang that it isn't too difficult for her to handle. or, well, that used to be the case.
now it's another story. waking up from a crystal stasis hundreds of years later makes one quite rusty in the art of hunting, not to mention behemoths did change and multiply over the course of the years. that, plus, well, now she is with a group of untrained and inexperienced people, preventing fang from being as reckless as she likes to be: always needing to keep an eye out for the others.
unlike lightning, fang enjoys her moments of rest. stretching her limbs, she crosses them before her while keeping her eyes upon lightning. oh, how entertaining the stuck-up soldier is. though she has to admit, she's been seeing cracks in that hard shell of hers.
" i wish i could help ya, but right now, 'm not even sure myself what ta expect there ", fang admits. gran pulse has gotten wilder and more dangerous with the beasts roaming around freely, with no one to hunt them actively like gran pulsians once did. " lady luck willin', there won't be any behemoths. but normally, there shouldn't be anything worrisome lingering around. " a pause, before she continues. " kinda dread goin' there, y'know. seein' how gran pulse ended up.. 'm scared to see how oerba is, now. " to see how the once beautiful flowers she and vanille once loved are gone. she could be hopeful and hope they prospered, but seeing the draught and ruins of the rest of the world, she has little hope.
" a shame, there was a spot in oerba i'd have shown ya. i think yer sister would've loved to see it. but from the looks of it.. i fear it ain't there anymore. "
