Words fail me, and seem so inadequate. Rarely I’ve met someone as kind, welcoming and lovely as dear Maarten, dear Nobley.
To hear he passed away is unreal, horrific. It feels wrong to simply say he is missed. To simply tell you he’s one of the nicest and sweetest guy I’ve had the honor to meet, would be insufficient. The least I can do is to remember him, for how he changed my life, as he did for many.
Without Nobley’s sweet and patient words, without his support, encouragement and enthusiasm, there would be no Saber. It was his open-mindedness and welcoming attitude that got me involved in pup play.
I still remember the first chats we had before the first Bark and Play, and how he simply comforted me and convinced me to actually go. He made me feel at ease, and allowed me to start exploring. Without him, I wouldn’t have known Bark and Play. Without him, I would have stayed in my shell. Without him, I, too, would be a different person.
Few have a big a heart as Maarten. Your creativity and witty banter always brought me a smile. I’ve got to know you as more than just a wonderful pup; I’m honored I got to know you as a friend.
Dear, lovely Nobley, thank you for this all!
If only I could tell you all will be fine
If only I could turn back the hands of time
But now you must take this puppy nap
And your warm heart left this gap
