I love how there are references to the alternative Volume 29 covers - so there is no doubt what they mean. 

Little Kacchan looking on and feeling that Deku is miles ahead of him. Kacchan still being stuck in the river, unable to get out and close the distance until he apologizes. 

And then this panel here - Kacchan finally leaving the river

And catching Deku before he could fall into the same spot Kacchan was trapped in.

Chapter 322: "Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight."

katsuki is able to recognize his wrongdoings now, name what he's done. he's no longer keeping those feelings deep inside of him, and so he can acknowledge them

the sequence here, with both of them growing up as the panels go, only showcases the development katsuki went through over the years

'deku' became a hero name, but before that, it was born from negativity, malice. from katsuki's end, it doesn't have a good history. he chooses here to say 'izuku', and knowing their history, it can be so meaningful, sincere. as if katsuki deems it inappropriate to use 'deku' alongside his apology

and... here we are now. we've come this far, katsuki has come this far. bowing his head, calm, his trademark aggression nowhere in sight. finally letting it off his chest

he fully understands the meaning behind his words. katsuki went from trying to do everything on his own, to slowly opening up and making friends, to knowing he can rely on others. in a way, he outstretches his hand for izuku now, reminding him of their friends' support. HIS support, readiness to help. katsuki is able to fully vocalize it, still no hints of aggression

it does it to izuku. like the final nail to the coffin, after everyone's efforts to break through his walls, katsuki smashes through it. does izuku faint from relief? it's clear how much of an impact katsuki's words have on him and how much they mean. in the next pages we still see him reluctant, not thinking he can return, but maybe in that one moment, he wanted to believe it. izuku finally lets himself collapse, and katsuki rushes to catch him. katsuki came here to save him, to reach out. as a friend, but also as a hero

HE SAID IT. Izuku i’m sorry. 26,000 fanfics trying to capture this moment and now we’ve finally got it in canon. We’re finally here folks. And he isn’t holding back at all. That art. That full on regretful confession. 

Bakugou you just won the whole damn manga. You learned this faster than Deku did. You’ve achieved one billion character development points.

“I love you” “I know”. LOL PLEASE? Anyway. Kacchan has finally held Deku. Checking off that Fanfic checklist aren’t we hori? Anyway DekuBowl is over and the winner is exactly who we always knew it would be. Because it simply couldn’t be anyone else. 

Like, I’ve been jokingly doing the Harem anime thing for the last few weeks, but even though I enjoy Tododeku and IiDeku and all the DekuBowl fun and the Harem ending ida, the truth is - Kacchan is his soulmate. His missing other piece. There’s really no comparing with anyone else. There’s a reason why Kacchan knew about OFA before the rest. Why he’s the one to finally reach Deku. And why he’s the one holding Deku in his actual arms now. 

So, individually, We love the idea of Bakugou extending a hand to Izuku,

and we love the idea of them finally hugging...

BUT WHAT IF BOTH?
