「A Little Help」 — Kris&Tiffany.
As he stood there waiting, Kris brought his hand up to check the time and to his surprise, the hands on his watch had ceased to tick. Well he knew it wasn’t 8:32AM anymore, but he had no clue as to the actual time of day, nor how long it had taken him to retrieve the groceries that Tiffany asked him to. According to the light outside, there hadn’t been much change, so he had to doubt he’d taken an irritating amount of time. He almost perked up upon hearing the activity on the other side of the door, standing up straight and producing his best and most charming smile.
However, the smile was essentially knocked from his face as the door opened and she tugged him in forcefully. Her scent hit him like a rush of cold air on a winter’s morning and it lingered on his senses, he could hardly focus, and the initial second it reached him, he had momentarily recoiled. It was never that she didn’t smell pleasant, but it was overwhelming. He had grown unaccustomed to this, the strength of an unmated female’s scent had become almost foreign since he had last encountered it. It had been with Jia, a good seventy years before this situation. He wasn’t prepared, he couldn’t have been.
"No, sunshine, it’s alright," he spoke after a hesitation. It had taken him a moment to get a handle on himself in the face of an unmated and oh-so blatantly ready, needing female. Though something of a beast, Kris had the mannerisms of a gentleman in regards to this situation, acquired through years of travelling and learning the etiquette from all four corners of the world. "I’ll help you, there’s no worries."
Kris had to force himself to pull his gaze from her; he has to make a conscious choice to stop breathing through his nose, for every time he did, he caught another wave of her scent. He took the bags and proceeded to the kitchen, placing them up on the counter. While he always tried his best to keep from resorting to instinct, he could feel it gnawing at him. His fingers curled, tensing up into a tight grip on the bag; it was all he could manage to keep himself from being too forward. He began to pull the groceries from their bags, filing them away in their respective storage units—some in the cupboards, some in the fridge, some in the freezer. When he finished, he found himself almost disappointed to realise that fact. He would surely be asked to leave by Tiffany, for he was sure she was affected just as much as he. Being in heat with an unmated, sexually mature male couldn’t be easy.
Struck with a sudden bright idea, Kris slowly turned to her, doing his best to keep his eyes from wandering as he brought them up to meet her gaze. He swallowed thickly, trying to gather himself for the question he was about to pose to her. The sheer weight of the situation knocked him off his game, and where he’d usually be more suave, he found himself unsure of how to approach it. He cleared his throat and stepped forward, letting his gaze slip to an intense stare. His lips quirked into something of a playful smirk as he spoke. “Y’know, sugar, I can help you with other things, too.”
His hesitation was hard to miss. She had known that perhaps if she pulled him in it would be something startling --a comment from an older, sympathetic patron had told her that it was obvious for miles and they were in a concentrated room but this was Kris and it would have been rude to slam the door in his face after a rushed smile before pulling her things in and hiding for the next two weeks and until she could apologize to him for her rough behavior. She grimaced just slightly then, an apology at the tip of her tongue but it refused to be said as he reassured her it was fine.
Perhaps he wasn't effected then? She could only hope that was the case because he seemed intent on putting away her things for her in that odd gentlemanly fashion he held on occasion because as it was she was definitely not okay herself.
The scent coming off him was messing with her senses, making her body want to go forward and demand he slam her up against the counter or at least let her extend the same courtesy and-- she shook her head back and forth to try and rid the thoughts from her head, not helped the longer she let her eyes linger on his form and the way his arms looked when accidentally flexed while putting something away or his face as he seemed slightly concentrated on his task. Her mind was working overdrive and while part of her felt a disappointment bubbling up in her chest when he was done the somewhat rational side which had the barest voice in her conscience at that point was happy --he could leave and she could go back to suffering on her own.
Lips parted and the offer of thanks and for him to go rested there a if raring to go as he turned around and her eyes were forced to fall away from his body (even i it was a slow process) and back to his eyes which didn't seem that much of a difference on either end. "Maybe you should-" The request for him to leave dying before it was completely put on the table, instead her actions mirrored his as she tried to swallow down the odd formed lump in her throat, tongue gracefully wetting her bottom lip for a moment before teeth moved to clamp down on the skin like a reminder she wasn't listening too in the face of a new set of words. "What...." She began, stopping for a moment eyes becoming half lidded out of instinct rather than habit as she watched him and the curve of his smirk. "What kind of things?"
