I never said I was a princess

      Tiana's first and foremost responsibility was to make sure that all the campers were hydrated and of well body, especially with so many outdoor activities available, but seeing as how she was able to do that without hardly trying she thought she might offer a class on cupcakes. In her opinion cupcakes were the easiest, and one of the funnest things to bake. They were tiny and simple, and could be decorated so many different ways. Which is why she thought it was the perfect muse.

      So, she lined up the piping bags and made sure that each station had a bowl and spoons -- everything was perfect. And then she glanced around nervously, checking the clock before retying her apron. At long last though the door opened and Tiana put on her brightest smile. "Are you here for the cupcake lesson?"

Basic Info:

Name: Tiana Mitchell Age: 22 Position at Camp: Cook Tent Location: As near to the kitchens as possible. Usually found: She's generally found out and around the camp, making sure every one is okay, and when she isn't then she's in the kitchens.

About:

Tiana was looking for a change in scenery, and particularly a change in weather since Louisina was hitting a dry spell. She took the job at the camp because it not only supplied this but because as a child she had never had a real camp experience. Sure there had been a handful of times where she had gone camping but never in a setting like this.

⊰ In the Beginning ⊱

Tiana was born to Eudora and James Mitchell in the heart of New Orleans. Even as a child she was their pride and joy, and they did everything in their power to give their daughter the best life possible. James worked at the Coal Mines and Eudora began racking up clients as a seamstress. Tia was a bright and bubbly baby, that Eudora took positively everywhere. Clients, the grocer, anywhere she could go she did, and when Eudora was in desperate need and needed someone to watch her, the whole neighborhood would pitch in.

One of the frequent trips Tiana would make with her mama was to visit the La Bouff's. She loved loved loved the La Bouff's residence ( not more than her own home though ) but most of all she was able to make fast friends with Lottie La Bouff, who coincidentally was around the same age. She loved the excitable girl's company, even if they had different ideas of the lives they'd lead.

As a tradition growing up Tiana always made gumbo with James, and as she grew older she discovered that it was not only fun but she had an inherent knack for it. And being her Daddy's daughter it was only natural that they open up a restaurant together. Some days, when they both were tired of hearing fairytales they'd talk about it, and all the things that they would do. Tiana found herself practicing her cooking skills in her spare time and asking the people around the neighborhood for tips. She wanted to be the best cooking partner she could be. 

She grew up with this determined demeanor, and applied it to all that she did. When her Father died ( fighting in World War One ) she felt compelled to make sure that she did all in her power to achieve her and her daddy's dream. So, at the age of twelve she began taking odd jobs until she landed a dish washing a job at Cal's and then Duke's. And soon she was waitressing and baking beignets for them both -- contributing not only to her restaurant but to the household as a whole. 

This immense need to achieve her dreams and make not only her parents, but herself proud overshadowed some of the more important things. And before she knew it Tiana was working endlessly with little to no time to spend with friends. Everything, seemed trivial to just how close she was to her dreams. Because of this Tiana never really dated. Everyone who asked her out didn't seem important enough to pass up another shift, nor did activities like dancing seem like fun after being on her feet all day.

Though her friends pushed her into one or two blind dates she never really pursued it. Unlike Lottie she was pretty disinterested in the dating scene. The only person who it really worried was Eudora, who wanted to see her daughter happy and in love while pursuing her dream. But she knew she couldn't push Tia into it, she'd have to figure that out for herself. 

⊰ Her Happily Ever After ⊱

Once she married Naveen they promptly went to have a proper wedding, with both their families present ( and a hand-sown dress from Eudora ). It was the happiest day of her life. Her and Naveen bought the old sugar mill and started renovations right away. It is a slow process though but is one it's way to being the best restaurant in New Orleans. 

The Shadowman did leave her wary of strangers who claim to deal in magic, voodoo, and other strange powers. She doesn't ever want to deal with something like that again -- not because she can't deal with it but because she doesn't want people she loves in danger again. Especially since she already lost one dear friend from that encounter.

Once Tiana's Palace is open and a smashing success she will being to delegate a bit more, as well as make sure that Eudora professionally retires ( because she has arthritis and she's a champion for continuing on thus far ). But for right now she's happy right where she is.
