Almost an entire year ago I made a personal post on this blog as a reminder of my current situation, how I was feeling, and where I was hoping to take things. Since that time, I have graduated from Rowan College with my paralegal and Pre-Law associates degree, instead of transferring to Florida State or terrible Kaiser for homeland security, and I have even landed myself a part-time experience at a law firm in Woodbury (that I happily left because it did not work with my school schedule for fall and the hours were killer on top of my other job at RRS, which I have been happily working since January). Moving forward I have decided to pursue law, in the environmental and energy direction because I think green technology and advancement is not only vital for our future, but really fucking interesting. Law in general is my hope for difference. With this in mind I have decided to go to Rutgers-Camden, stay at home and continue working, and I even got myself involved in a pretty neat, and different project that I will touch base on later in this post.
I basically decided to go to Rutgers-Camden because Rowan didn’t have exactly what I was looking for, and Uni of San Francisco at this time in my life just feels out of reach and unreasonable. I made the decision to stay purely because I felt that staying would allow me to work on other things in other directions on top of my schooling, and keep me focused. At Rutgers I met Vicki Troomer, who introduced me to Brian Everett, who got me involved in the leadership institution, which is the most prestigious national leadership society nation wide. I am double majoring in pre-law and political science, and minoring in leadership, with a focus on national security. National security was my backup, but I am still open to other things as well, possibly something more on the infrastructure, and environmental path. But anyways, my schooling situation has progressed significantly, and although I am about to be faced with a challenge, I have been doing well thus far.
The last time I posted I was going through a rough break up with somebody whom I thought my was “forever” person, but really it was my first true heartbreak that made me realize the importance of self love and acceptance, and how powerful love is in general and how one person can change everything. It also made me realize the importance of holding myself together in tough times and never allowing a person to control me in that way ever again. In November I met someone named Chelsea, ironically enough, and through thick and thin she has proven me that love is way more than giddy stuff. She has remained my rock, and has helped me a lot with growing up, taking control of my life, and being a go-getter.
We are still together and we are not rushing anything and it feels nice. I have freedom to go out with my friends and she has the same. I am not obsessed and neither is she but our hard work co-exists and that feeling can sometimes make me question if its real because it’s very different, but the difference is healthy and it’s nice.
The project that I am working on now is converting a 1992 shasta camper 8x18 into an eco-friendly, energy efficient trailer that suns off of solarvolatic cells. It definitely has a lot of work to do, but it’s something that keeps me busy, and something that is helping me build a foundation on my future and give me learning and hands on experience. Everyone thinks I'm nuts, but like i said, i’ve been taking the route of a go-getter and just making things happen instead of dreaming about it. Of course it’s much harder, but that’s the way i’m going to advance. There is no easy route to success.
Another thing is that I went out and I got the sports car that i’ve always wanted and i did that ALL ON MY OWN. I got a 2014 chevy camaro RS and i love it. I am happy with myself and extremely proud.
This last year has been challenging, and relieving. I have went through really shitty things but I have went through things that have made me a stronger person and I will never ever forget.
