2. What fandoms have you made art for?

The first and only fandom I've ever made fanart for is ACOTAR! Before I was primarily doing original art / characters which I do miss sometimes, but this has been a fun detour.

3. What are your favorite subjects / characters / ships to draw?

Tamlin's pretty obviously my favorite character and I enjoy drawing him in dumb situations with other characters. I also love to draw his beast form, as a treat. I swear I want to draw more serious, lore-relevant concept art for a wider range of characters, but I ALWAYS get distracted by the Sillies (I blame my mutuals). And of course, I'll take any opportunity I can to draw Tamsand, my fav ship and the reason I got into the fandom in the first place.

4. What medium, programs, tools, etc. do you use?

I draw almost exclusively digitally nowadays. I mainly use Clip Studio Paint with my Wacom Intuos Pro M, though my recent iPad upgrade has made Procreate significantly more accessible. I've been really enjoying the tilt capabilities of the Apple Pencil combined with Procreate's texture brushes.

5. What's your favorite part of your art process?

This really depends on how well the drawing is going at any given moment, which varies wildly. I have plenty of practice with sketching and lining so I'd say those are my favorite parts, but sketching when I'm not warmed up or lining when my brush doesn't look appealing feels extremely depressing lol.

I also really enjoy rendering in monochrome colors. It's hard to fuck up and always makes the drawing look way nicer

6. What's your most popular fanart, by engagement? Are you surprised?

Shockingly, it's this Tamlin Week shirt cut meme with 668 notes. When I tell you I turned notifications for this post off before I went to bed because I didn't think it would be well received (don't do this). In retrospect, I really shouldn't have been so surprised that people would enjoy 5 consecutive images of Tam with his nipples out.

Honorable mentions: My Eris and his Hounds (647) drawing is not far behind; I never realized how popular a character Eris was (or maybe how unpopular Tam is in comparison LMFAO). I'm also extremely baffled by the third most popular Tam grooming Rhys + Lucien doodle (645) that I nearly didn't post. I'm incapable of predicting what resonates most with this fandom, clearly...

7. Personal favorite fanart you’ve made?

Whufff this one's so fucking tough. I'm still extremely fond of the first piece I ever posted to the fandom: these four beast tamlins. I fear I've never captured the same cute yet beastly vibe he has in this drawing since. And the reception soothed my fears about posting art to a fandom for the first time.

8. Fanart you wish you did better on / wish you could redo?

Some of the biggest offenders are this sketch comic I rushed for Tamlin Week (I haven't looked at this again since posting - I just think the anatomy and faces are wonky) and this compilation of beast tam playing with a rhys plush. It came out nothing like how I envisioned and the style I drew in is neither realistic nor cutesy enough for my liking. Plus I had to redraw the first image like 4 times. Not my proudest moment.

9. Do you draw NSFT? If so, what kinds of NSFT scenarios / tropes do you like to draw?

Mhm I sure do. I enjoy drawing men getting nasty, threesomes, and role-reversal/femdom. I also enjoy drawing monsterfucking / teratophilia, though otherwise I feel like my smut is relatively tame.

I really dig adding dialogue / banter between people in NSFT art. It just brings a lot more out of it and makes you think about how they mesh during the whole exchange.

10. Do you have any fandom OCs that you’ve drawn / would like to draw?

Here's an outdated design for my ACOTAR failchild Mahsa. They're a shapeshifting war veteran ex-amputee ex-old-woman who was revived + worldhopped over to Prythian from baseline reality after dying and now hangs out along the Spring - human lands border. He gets into some drama with the NC (Azriel specifically), and eventually meets Eris, Jurian, and Tam. They're just an excuse to draw more fae x Big Creature and Big Creature x Big Creature interactions. But I haven't found the time to develop them properly.

11. Can you share any part of a WIP you’ve abandoned?

RIP my out-of-my-skill-range Tamquin Tamlin Week drawing that I spent way too much time drawing a 3-point perspective semicircular handrail for.

12. What would you say are your artistic strengths and weaknesses?

I think I have a decent handle of anatomy / 3D space and have good line confidence!

I'm very uncomfortable with picking and using colors though. I get scared of deviating from a very fixed palette I already knows looks good. I'm also lack practice with facial variation, clothes, backgrounds, and human-made objects, but I'm actively trying to get better at these.

I'm shy about doing this but hhh okay appreciation time:

I like illyrianbuck's worldbuilding and the amount of thought they put into each of the characters. It's the kind of stuff i wish I could draw, if so much of the source material didn't actively annoy me to work with.

palomita-de-la-sangre has a suuuper unique style that I adore. Their fae look animalistic (as they should) and they use color + lighting super well for dramatic effect.

2. What fandoms have you made art for?

I think the first fanart I posted online was Dragonball stuff 20 or so years ago. I also did some things for Death Note, Harry Potter (it was a different time ok) and a LOT for A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones), Dragon Age, Curse of Strahd and finally: Acotar. But that you know. It's all on my tumblr still under the respective tags!

3. What are your favorite subjects / characters / ships to draw?

My favorite subjects are animals, creatures, monsters and the like. It's why I tend to make the fae in Acotar even more animalistic than they actually are. It's just more fun for me!

4. What medium, programs, tools, etc. do you use?

Good old Photoshop and the cheapest Wacom tablet that was available 7 years ago. I'm still trying to force myself to switch to Clip Studio because paying subscription for PS is stupid. Also CS has so much cooler brushes and stuff at this point.

5. What's your favorite part of your art process?

Sketching. It lets me put ideas down quickly so I love it. But then actually making them into finished pieces? UFF, the SUFFERING!

6. What's your most popular fanart, by engagement? Are you surprised?

It's the Baby Bat Brawl I did for Rhysand Week 3 years or so ago. It got like over 1300 Notes. I am NOT surprised because I know the bats are infinitely more popular than Tamlin or anyone else and Baby Rhys and Cas really ended up cute (I'm quite proud of that). I think the Rhys and Tam High Lord portraits are also up there, which I also get. Those and Beron and Helion are probably my best work I did for Acotar. And I went with book descriptions so probably all the casual readers enjoy it too. What DID surprise me was that my Lucien and Tamlin sketchy ass comic thing I did for yara ended up over 1000 notes too.

For fanart in general, my most popular work is that one Dragon Age Inquistion comic I did. It's funny when you played the games I suppose!

My most popular work in general was some cat joke with a Sphinx that I did so many years ago. Absolutely bonkers notes. Not surprised though, because cats....

7. Personal favorite fanart you’ve made?

For Acotar: I really like the Helion High Lord portrait I did. I also really like the one that caused so much drama back when I posted it for Rhysand week in 2024. I honestly still don't understand why. I think it turned out so cute but also sad at the same time.

8. Fanart you wish you did better on / wish you could redo?

A lot of my older ones but especially the Tamlin transforming Andras into a wolf one. I worked so hard on it but I HATE how it turned out.

Maybe I'll redraw it one day....

9. Do you draw NSFT? If so, what kinds of NSFT scenarios / tropes do you like to draw?

Everyone who has been following me since my ASOIAF days knows what problematic stuff I used to post when Tumblr still let us LMAO.

I do really enjoy upsetting content in the sense of psychological horror and such. Dubious consent, all that stuff. I like the sexual parts more implied rather than all the fluids and genitals in your face though. Unless it's blood.

I haven't really been drawing it anymore though. I guess I'm getting old.

Do you have any fandom OCs that you’ve drawn / would like to draw?

I kinda wanna do an Acotar OC at some point, but mostly I miss my Curse of Strahd Centaur OC and my Dragon Age Origins elf mage.

Can you share any part of a WIP you’ve abandoned?

I don't reaaally abandon a lot. I do sketches that never become full pictures a lot, but I also still often revisit them when I feel inspired (or lacking inspiration). I have two that I haven't done anything with in a LONG time and likely never will though:

What would you say are your artistic strengths and weaknesses?

Pshhhhh, I think I have a good eye for composition? I like my whimsy? But as is usual as an artist, all I know are my weaknesses. Which is mostly I suck at coloring, I suck at rendering, I suck at hair, at character design (I have like 2 faces and 4 poses in me).

@plumita-d-la-sangre for just drawing the most awe-inspiring amazing shit. Your style is an inspiration and just every time I see your stuff on my dash I'm thinking "wow, this is some real art".

@dimalry for their amazing designs and great lore takes. That Beron post is still on my mind every so often. Also you drew the cutest Tamlin. Very fae. Very whimsical. Love!

@whatisamettafor I have to tag her because not only does she draw the funniest comics, but also she's a great friend.

And of couse I deserve a bonus tag for the one, the only, my love, my everything @copypastus ! The most efficient, hard working artist who single handedly saved the Tamlin tag in 2022.
