โ through this blog our aim is to give the community a transparent and open-ended outlet for readers to have close up look to the creative process of writers in the community through an interview style conversation !
nope, at the moment we are focusing on the jjk community.
can multifandom blogs apply or be requested ?
absolutely ! but a requirement is to write for jjk.
will you branch out to other fandoms ?
maybe/probably. we haven't decided yet.
who can apply ?
small, starting, rising, established and known writers.
what type of blogs will you interview ?
any type of blog that does not fall under the categories in the 'few disclaimers' section. but it includes blogs that do, smau's, one shots, series, sfw & nsfw.
can i ask for an interview for myself ?
absolutely ! please don't shy away from contacting us, it's not cringe and it's not desperate. the goal is to give visibility to up and coming writers and to learn from more established writers to keep growing. spreading art is a gift.
through which means will the interview will be done ?
it can be through direct Tumblr DMs or discord.
are there pre-made questions or is it in a go with the flow ?
there are pre established questions set up but as we ask and receive answers additional questions may rise.
can i decline being interviewed ?
yes.
is this blog only going to upload the interview and nothing more ?
no ! we will constantly reblog new pieces of smaller writers, so we encourage readers and writers to follow the blog along to discover new writers and people to create a community.
what made you two decide to make this blog ?
so, seeing the whole debacle started by the gossip blogs, ngl, we lurked and saw how many authors were accused of publishing stories with ai solely or with ai assistance and how rightfully pissed off they were. or how many writers are feeling defeated with having zero growth/engagement on the platform. so the idea came up to give them a voice and common ground.
what is your stance on generative ai ?
it's shit from the ass.
can minors interact with this blog ?
we might host nsfw, so no.
when will you post the interviews?
we will be posting interviews friday through the weekend
โ if any further questions arise, send us an ask or dm !
โ this is a side blog so likes/follows/dms will come from my main (miitoru) or through khaevia, thank you tumblr. also due to this there is no obligation for you to follow my main (miitoru), like at all, although we appreciate if you follow this one (throughsixeyes).
โTHIS IS NOT A GOSSIP BLOG ๐ญ๐
โ we do not interview known problematic people for whatever reason (be it to clarify 'drama' or anything related to such) as that is not the purpouse of this blog. and the one's that we may interview but may have been roped into controversies might feel uncomfortable reliving that period of time so we don't ask anything relating to a situation that might have occurred.
โ we will go through a thorough investigation on the author before we reach out with our 'interview-ish' style questions.
โ we reserve the right to comply with an author or reader's request we feel uncomfortable engaging with. that may be due to a variety of factors like: extreme content, generative ai authors or use generative ai in any way, fetishizing content, known to have horrible behavior/attitude, etc.
โ we wont be interviewing strictly mini drabble blogs, we apologize for that but we have our own criticism on that topic.
โ we are not liable if the author we feature here turned out to be problematic or venture into problematic behaviors in the future, clearly we had no idea if the situation arises and maybe throughout the investigation we missed something. what we can do in response is to just delete the content promoted here.

when she isn't writing stories about gojo, she is definitely thinking about writing stories for gojo. @throughsixeyes sits together with @gojover ( en / enqi ) to discuss her writing, her thoughts about her fic/s going viral, and most importantly, her love for gojo satoru.
Q: Tell us where do your ideas come from?
A: a lot of my planned AUs come from other media! i'll finish watching a good movie or reading a book and think, "that was so good... but what if it was satoru?" from there, i usually start building the idea around that initial spark.
Q: What inspired you to start writing?
A: i think i've been interested in writing since i was really young. my first fanfic was a conspiracy 365 fanfic (iykyk) that i wrote in a notebook. reading works on wattpad and then meeting a group of friends who also write definitely set me up to write fanfiction too!
Q: What is your writing schedule?
A: i usually lock in after work and do writing sprints with friends for a few hours. i say that but often time i'm pulling an all-nighter on fri/sat nights to get them done... thankfully past me wrote a lot of almost-finished wips so i've been able to post pretty frequently!
Q: What kind of research do you usually do for your fics?
A: it depends on the AU. i recently messaged my friend to ask about frats and specifically frat names because i'm not american and am larping about them in my fics. for AUs outside of college/modern, like historical AUs, i'll look into clothing, social hierarchies, slang where applicable, detail about events like balls etc. or it's research into the media that i'm basing my fic on (eg spiderman)
Q: Do you draw inspiration from other authors, be it on the Tumblr or traditional publishing authors?
A: i definitely take inspiration from what i read! when a plot twist/reveal catches me off guard, i like to deconstruct why it worked on me and think about how i could use a similar structure in my own writing. usually, that turns into a planned scene which then becomes its own fic
Q: Which tabs are mostly open while writing?
A:ย i usually go split screen. i'll have my wip google doc pen and then another google doc strictly for the wip i'm currently working on beside it. then i'll have, like, a calculator so i can track my word count for writing sprints, and probably youtube or spotify. recently i've been moving everything onto obsidian so hopefully less tabs will be open then!
Q: How do you deal with writers block or in any case, writing insecurity?
A: oh god. well first, i try to remind myself that it's temporary. i've abandoned many accounts in the past due to a long bout of writer's block and i always end up regretting that. reading and watching movies definitely help to reignite the spark, but i also just stop writing altogether for a break. honestly, i think sometimes you just have to let writer's block run its course since there's no perfect solution so i try to make peace with it instead of forcing myself through it
writing insecurity is something i deal with all the time but thankfully, i have close friends who are very good at talking sense into me. it also helps to remember that fanfiction doesn't have to be perfect and that building any skill takes time and lots of mistakes!
Q: How much does engagement affect your creative process?
A: i can't say i'm writing for myself completely since i'm posting my work publicly so engagement does affect my creative process at least a little. i think it's important to remember why you're writing in the first place so that you don't tunnel vision into notes and interactions. i simply want to build my masterlist full of long, niche works that one day a reader might stumble upon and think wow! there's so much here i'm so glad i found this blog! saying that, i really look forward to comments and reblogs so those definitely motivate me to keep writing!
Q: What are your favorite genre's to write besides romance.
A: i love fantasy :3
Q: What is your favorite work until now?
A: probably kiss me when you swing by
Q: What trope is your favorite?
A: i love when the guy yearns so the 'guy falls first and falls harder' so i'd say that's my favourite but it's hard to pick
Q: Is there a genre/trope you'd like to see be explored more in the fandom?
A: more historical AUs! more movie/book inspired AUs! the more niche, the better!
Q: What would you like to write more in the future? sfw/nsfw/angst/fluff?
A: all my upcoming wips save one is fluff + nsfw but i really want to write angst sometime in the far future :3
Q: Do you outline your stories or not? If you do how is said process?
A: absolutely! i was a short fic writer for a long time because i struggled completing a long fic. outlining is a probably redundant for shorter ones, but long fics i think is a must.
i usually split an idea into scenes and dot point a short timeline of events for each scene including key dialogue, actions, main tropes and emotional points. that way when i'm writing everything is laid out for me and i can think less :3
Q: What has been the hardest fic you've written?
A: ย kiss me when you swing by. this was one of my first long fic wips ever and i did NOT outline or i didn't have a timeline at all! so when i started rewriting it, i had to cut several scenes out, remove entire concepts, mix and match scenes, just so the flow and pacing could be better.
Q: What is something you had wished people told you while beginning to write?
A: ย to outline! it helps so much with pacing, since each scene should be relatively the same length, it helps with character arcs, making sure the fic feels completed etc etc it literally saved my life.
Q: How do you improve your writing?
A: ย writing is very intuitive so i think the best way to build that intuition is to read. that includes both fanfiction and published literature. there are also tons of free writing resources online that can help with specific aspects of writing. again, no one opens their laptop and starts writing peak literature, it takes time and effort and a lot of trial and error!
Q: Do you set yourself personal deadlines?
A: ย yes! my friends and i like to find silly national days and set them as deadlines to post. it helps keep me accountable because otherwise i would probably never post anything.
Q: How often do you read your old works?
A: never, don't even joke lad. rereading my own work has me clawing at my skin.
Q: Which is your favorite character and why? (can be outside the jjk story or even outside anime)
A: ย currently, it's gojo satoru (what a surprise!). proud (?) to say i've yearned for him since 2021 and i fear it's never going away. before that though, i was obsessed with dazai and childe lol.
Q: Do you write with music? If so, which songs get you pumped? or are you more ambient or work in silence/outside noise type?
A: ย i listen to music and sometimes youtube videos though the latter is less common. i have a playlist of commonly used tiktok edit songs for the character i'm writing, and i'll usually loop that. honestly though, i don't really hear music when i'm writing so i might as well be listening to nothing. 10 hours of silence occasionally interrupted by metal pipe.
Q: What is the inspiration behind your theme?
A: it's national burger month eat a burger and enjoy it.
Q: What are your honest feelings or opinions on the rise of ai in writing spaces?
A: ย i find it incredibly demotivating and honestly, a mockery of fandom culture, especially because there's nothing more human than storytelling. fanfiction doesn't have to be perfect, and it definitely shouldn't be easy. struggling with writer's block, with choosing the right phrasing or the right word, it's all just part of the process. i firmly believe that people using generative ai to write their works are poisoning creative writing spaces. it feels disingenuous and in many cases, it comes from wanting notes or a fanbase without actually engaging with the writing process. just downright disgusting
Q: Do you believe it to be unethical to use ai in any step of the writing process? And if so, why?
A: i'm completely against generative ai being used in any part of the writing process for sure! since ai tools are trained on existing writing, it relies on the work of authors who often never consented to having their writing used that way. in fandom spaces especially, people are already sharing their work for free out of love for the characters and the community. using ai in that spaces feels, frankly put, unfair. writing involves thinking, struggling, revising, learning, and making choices and when ai is used to bypass all of that, it removes so much of what makes writing meaningful and dilutes the process.
Q: Why only write for gojo, what draws you to him specifically? was it love at first sight?
A: ive written for satoru, suguru and shoko before (and also some main trio stuff) but honestly me only writing satoru on this blog is a skill issue lol i like when i have one thing to focus on and i think planning wips with multiple characters on the brain distracts me. but yes i am deeply in love with satoru the rumours are true
Q: Did u expect ur first fic to blow up the way it did?
A: definitely not LMAO i knew the jjk tumblr community didnโt like long fics so i had no expectations. its a bit embarrassing to admit but when i first posted there were so many small errors i wasnโt bothered to fix because i didnโt think many people would read it. and then on saturday morning i was on call w a friend and she was like hey ur fic is blowing up LOLLL
Q: What made u delve into a smau format for ur recent fic?
A: ive tried two other smaus before on previous accounts and its fun and silly and a good way to interact with followers because its near daily updates !! also one of my closest friends @/jayflrt is a big smau writer and she inspires me
Q: Whats ur fav gojo au to write / or what can we expect to see u write in the future for gojo (or perhaps some other character)?
A: one of my favourite wips right now is my brooklyn 99 au, its found family, romcom-y (?) and hopefully full of murder mysteries and its been so fun to write so far !!
Q: What advice would you give new writers or people who are just starting?
A: if you're writing on tumblr, don't get pulled into the interactions trap! write because you want to get your stories and thoughts out there. write something you can be proud of, so when you look back on it in a few months, you can feel accomplished knowing you wrote that! it takes time but there's no rush! fandoms are always hungry for fics, and there will always be people who look forward to reading your unique voice!
we're here to ask the community (more specifically authors) if they're interested to go through an interview about their creative process with the purpouse to elevate smaller writers and tackle the unfounded ai accusations.
we are not online yet since we want to hear your opinions (including readers !) first ! if there's any questions feel free to ask.
edit: thank you to everyone who voted !! we really appreciate it, tomorrow we will be posting our navigation post. and you can send in your requests !
