A local organization has set up a small petting zoo near my college. Whenever I needed some peace and quiet after class, I would always go see the animals. It’s strange to think that I’ll probably never see them again after my exams in a few weeks. Those two and a half years have gone by very quickly.

I will now go back to worrying about my exams and writing my thesis.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

After months without any drawings, I wanted to try something new. I found Derwent Inktense pencils in a store and decided to give them a try. Since it's October, I decided to draw an autumnal apple. I think the bright colors of the pencils go really well with this design. I'm hoping I can keep practicing even as I study, so I don't have to start from scratch.

It's worth getting up early, even if the clouds aren't particularly dramatic. The long exposure shot still had an interesting effect.

This forest looks like the kind of place where you'd find the final boss waiting to fight you in a game. At least that's what I told my partner when he pointed it out to me. But he was already on his way to explore it, so I just took some quick photos on my phone. We didn't find any final bosses, though.

Heavy snowfalls have become very rare in recent years. The snow usually lasts only a few days. To capture beautiful winter landscapes, I have to travel to the Ore Mountains. For this photo, I hiked up the Auersberg where icy winds and beautiful sunshine created a winter wonderland.

I wanted to try out some different art programs because SAI V1 doesn't work on my new laptop. But first I started with some Android apps. So here's a quick sketch of my character Abel, the black-and-white ruffed lemur.

Where has the year gone? I've never learnt so much in such a short amount of time, but I've also never had so much stress. Between exams and project work, I hardly found time to draw and take photos. But somehow I managed to do what I had wanted to do for years. Over the summer I made a few drawings for the Waldrappteam. One of them even became the logo for this year's shirt. It was a great honour for me to meet the team and watch the young birds during flight training. I am very grateful for this opportunity and would have loved to stay longer. I am very happy that the long journey to Spain was a success. In this respect, it was a very eventful year. Soon my lectures will start again and I will have to return to other topics. Until then, I wish you all a Happy New Year 2025.

I haven't shown any drawings for a long time, but I haven't stopped drawing. Most of the time I only draw for family and friends. This drawing of my cats Molly and Monty (@mollymontycats) was a birthday present for my mother in 2021.
