Today our tutor gave us some feedback about our project. The first one is to use the bullet points, which could make the point more clear. Another point is to design thinking methods to show the audience the sketches of the project. It is better to use key words in the pod page, instead of the full text. The logic of the project is very important. It should be logical and persuasive. We should talk about the experience of travelers in the airport, which is the reason why we want to design an airport lounge. Then we need to do some research about what facilities some biggest airports have and indicate why we choose such airports. Then look at how such airports solve the problems. According to the reference information we research, we will set up an image of our lounge and we can have a good understanding of the meaning of “bring the outdoors in”. we could add some relaxing and natural element in our lounge to provide a green and healthy environment for travelers.I was assigned another task, so I need to study it as soon as possible. The topic is why biophilic design can make people relax，which can help people to understand better why we choose biophilic design. we will have a speech in the next week. We will try our best. After i researched the service and facilities of some airports,such as Heathrow Airport,Beijing-Capital International Airport, Internation HongKong Airport and Airport Schiphol. It is clear that now many large airports have constructed the lounge well. If we want to build the room better, decoration, design and service should be improved. For example, the lounge can be established at the top of the airport, which can ensure a good vision. The outer layer of the lounge is made of special glass and it is not visible to indoor, which can keep good privacy. As for the service, more humanized languages could be added and fine books reading and wine tasting could be provided. Indoor games can be added to the indoor electronic golf area, meanwhile, child care and children's entertainment area can be offered.

BBC experts came to our school to teach us some useful techniques about how to communicate with audience effectively and how to be generous and selfish. There were 3 techniques I need to focus on. The first one is outcome-oriented. In order to send the messages smoothly, audiences’ minds could be won by logical and emotional words. When introducing the topic, it is best to attract the interest of audiences. More support should be obtained to make the decision better. Cooperate with some creative team members and try to overcome all the difficulties. Think about the questions from another angle. Analyze the current situation clearly and solve the complicated problems. Obtain some supportive attitude from analytical, financial or executive departments. The second technique is audience-centred. There are four aspects to be considered, such as emotion, direction, support and reflection. In the emotion part, the presentation should be short and focus on the point. Some details could be showed in the handout. The direction is to describe some factors that will affect the work and also need to be in the logical order. Support means the expectation of the results and consequences. Reflection shows that some possible answers could be prepared earlier to ensure the messages to be delivered. The last one is the selfish aim. By thinking the targeted audiences and the goals that targeted audiences should achieve, some important questions could be set up to achieve the goals. During the presentation, it is better to include 5 parts. In the introduction, it is important to grab the interest of audiences. Many methods could be used, such as quotation, controversy and humor or drama. The second part is to focus on the audiences. Audiences should understand what problems the presentation could solve and who could obtain benefits from the presentation. Next, a case should be built, which means that the information could be easily understood if it could be converted into something that audiences have already known. For example, some background information or stories could be presented to the audiences. Some data or figures could make the information more clearly and directly. Some vivid pictures or visual linking are also the effective methods to help audiences know the information. The fourth part is to convince the audiences. After the presentation, some audiences will propose some doubt and questions. Such questions could be prepared in advance to reiterate the important information. Finally, in the conclusion, it is better to build the confidence for the products or ideas. For example, what problems do the products solve? Or what testimonials do the products have? Or how can acquire more information about the products. By using such effective techniques, the ideas could be explored in details and better delivered to the targeted audiences.

Today, we met Jo and Jo gave us some suggestion of our project. In our project, a good introduction is an advantage to catch the eyes of audiences. More details should be researched, such as the feeling of the passengers and how to be a membership of airports. Use some catch phrase to make the atmosphere exciting. In order to design the relaxation room well, we need to do more research about the reason that people take airplanes, the behaviors of people at the airports, how often they take airplanes, the behaviors of people in the boarding line and people in different age groups. Having a good understanding of the needs of people could make the room warm and comfortable. We also need to know the facilities that airports have and do not have and at least 3 means of transportation. In the presentation, more visual images could be presented and the name of our team should appear in each slide. After meeting with Jo, more information should be explored in details to improve our project. I am so confident about our project and I believe we can do the best.

I interviewed 4 people about the experience in the airports. The first respondent felt the service level and frequency shift of Airport Express were satisfactory, but traffic congestion in the peak hour could cause some passengers not to arrive at the airport in time. It is suggested to adjust the route of the airport express and increase the flexibility of the drivers on the selection of routes. Airport Express can be arranged in the subway stations with better transportation. The second respondent thought the registration procedure was complicated when using wireless network in the airport, and the quality of the wireless signal was poor. It is better to simplify the steps of wireless network connection and do the one click Security connection as soon as possible. The construction of modern intelligent airport based on mobile Internet communications technology projects could be strengthened to enhance the competitiveness of the airport in the future. The third respondent felt that some small change could not be easy to be dealt with when he departed. Some charity donation box could be set up in the International Departure Hall and customs frontier defense channel, and use a variety of foreign languages to indicate, which could help some departing passengers to deal with small change timely. The fourth respondent was not satisfied with of violent behavior of Airport baggage handling. The appearance of his new rimowa luggage got serious damage due to the airport handling violence. Airport baggage handling should be managed strictly, and airport baggage packaging services should be strengthened. At the same time, the cost of packaging services should be reduced.

After the presentation, the group discussion and thinking of the suggestion of Orangebox, we decide to conduct some deep investigation about Airport Beijing Capital International, HONG KONG AIRPORT, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Heathrow International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport. I think this is a very good idea. Through the study of existing services, facilities and cost of these large airports, we can have a better reference and perfect our thinking.

Today, our group proposes some ideas that more research should be done about the behaviors. As for different age group, different people have different behaviors at airport and they have different experience. The elder people usually have heavy pressure on work or life, so a comfortable environment should be very important. Some facilities, such as sofa or sleeping chair should be deposited to provide a good rest for elder people. As for kids, due to long-hour trip in the airplanes, kids may feel dull and tired. An interesting story could be provided for kids to improving their travelling experience. They also need to know the information about the flights clearly so that it is better to have a big screen or on a paper form. The color and mood of the room should be considered and think about what people and companies do to achieve this aim. Plants and lighting are important issues of the room. It is better to use natural plants and light to make the room bright and refreshed. More aspects, such as moods, different age groups, refreshment, could be researched by a questionnaire.

In our group, we have a good team and a very challenging and meaningful task, but an international student will inevitably have some language barriers. Each member of our team is positive to think about the corresponding solution. At the same time, we also ask our teacher Jo’s opinions. Through the communication with Jo, Jo recommends that we use the Pinterest. There are a large number of great designs in this website, such as input biophilic design. We can obtain a great many exquisite design pictures, and we can convey ideas with each other in the form of pictures. I think this is a very good way to remove communication problems. Meanwhile, our group has created our own discussion group on Facebook, and we are able to upload views and notes. I believe that our team can complete the task successfully.

In this biophilic environment passengers could be totally relaxed,have a good rest and get rid of the tried in the trip.

Today I research the relaxing fragrance ，which can give our group's design a better environment. We want to know how the fragrance affect the emotion of the customers. I research 4 fragrances .For example ,i do the research about four different fragrances, Sandal, Jasmine Lavender and Geranium. All of them could bring good effect of relaxation and refresh the mind. The smell of sandal is woody and stable. Jasmine tastes sweet and has rich fragrance. Lavender has been quite common vanilla in the Roman era because of its most powerful function, which is known as the “queen of vanilla”. Geranium is sweet and slightly heavier, which is close to the fragrance of rose and it has a little mint and lemon flavor if it is smelt carefully! We will continue study more.

Today we had the first meeting and talked about some ideas about the project. Airport lounge should be a room which could provide a relaxing and comfortable environment before flights. We focused on the needs of the customers, so many considerations were related to the senses.  The color should be warm and fragrant smell could be provided for people to relax. Light music was also another effective method to make people out of stress. some plants, such as mushrooms could be provided by using leather or fabric, which could last for 5 to 10 years. Due to the polished concrete in the floor, a carpet was needed to stop the echoing. In the room, a fish tank could be set up on the wall and the ceiling could be made of the glass with some natural lights going through. as for the targeted customers, the lounge aimed at the high-end customers or business flyers.
