stiles laughed “maybe a little?” he said teasing “but only a little,” he laughed lightly. he felt good with lydia, like he had known her forever. which was strange but he liked the familiar feeling. “of course i mean, we all have our secrets, some things are better left unsaid,” he agreed with a nod. Stiles had no idea she meant sex because well, stiles had only done it a couple times. he wasn’t exactly Casanova or anything. “yeah? you know scott? i just met him. are you two, like a thing?” he asked her now “i don’t mean to pry,” he laughed softly. “i tend to get nosey feel free to stop me, before i keep going,” he said to her. “no?” he said to her “damn,” he said “just the blue car then...” 

max laughed “oh yeah? i knew the truth would come out eventually,” he teased playfully. “but i do cave to you fairly well, i mean you make that face and then what am i supposed to do?” he told her looking her over “you know exactly, what it does to me,” he winked teasingly.  “hm,” he grinned “maybe you should explore my body and find the perfect spot, but, i mean you really need to take a thorough feel, you know, to find the right spot,” he winked at her chuckling. “i know i am,” he leaned kissing her lips softly.

harley nodded at the other and smirked lightly, “i like you. you seem like the kinda person a girl could be friends with.” she said to the young man. the woman tilted her head and shrugged, “i’ve been a couple times actually. thanks to the big bad bat for most of them.” she told him, “nah, not at all. though it’s kinda boring. in prison, i mean.” she laughed softly, “i wouldn’t exactly say i’m doing good, per say. but better than i was before.” she said with a small shrug of her shoulders. she didn’t exactly know how to describe the things she saw and did with the other, “i guess but i’m still not classifying it as a hero. since bein’ forced into somethin’ isn’t really bein’ a hero. ya gotta do it for yourself if ya wanna be called a hero. more like a mercenary.”

max grinned “oh but i am, the type of person a girl can be friends with. you know, i generally only had a few girls that were simply just friends back home and the rest well..” he said with a slight smirk. “now that i’m here, i’ve found i’m trying new things, including making friends without jumping into bed with them. it’s a weird and strange feeling but i feel like i’m doing well,” max was proud of himself, not that it was hard, but it was just so easy for him to flirt and do what he did best. “i can say the same about you, a good friend, so cheers to that,” he said raising his drink and then finishing it off. he was feeling the effects slowly now but he liked the buzz. “a couple times, shit, in and out are you? sounds unfair if he keeps putting you in there when you’re clearly way too good for prison,” he smirked. “well, being better than you were before is always something no?” he asked her with a shrug. max agreed “okay you’re right being forced into it isn’t exactly hero, but it’s still pretty cool, in my opinion,” he chuckled. “mercenary, yeah, that’s a way better word and it sounds cooler.”

the man scratched the top of his head and shrugged at the other’s question, “honestly, i think that’s just how it’s made.” as soon as alec started talking about his own thoughts, he nodded, “welcome to mystic falls. a place where you can easily get lost in your own thoughts.” he sighed, “sometimes it’s not easy to have to be alone. maybe someone you know will show up eventually. i heard that’s something that happens here.”

alec gave a light laugh “yeah, i find i do that a lot here, not surprised this place has been dubbed that,” he said. alec liked mystic falls, he was getting to know it fairly well but of course it wasn’t home. “yeah,” he said “i’m holding out, of course,” he said, unknowing to him magnus was already here but he hadn’t run into him yet as of drinking his beer. “what about you? are you from here? or?” 

    most of the times, jason didn’t know what got into him and he tried his best, at least right now, to not get unexpectedly angry with people, especially when things were his fault. usually, he just kept that bottled up, at least for now. “hot coffee and clothing does not mix. i know it all too well.”

ethan nodded “yeah, plus skin, hot coffee and skin doesn’t go all too well,” he let out a slight laugh. “luckily we’re fine, but i can’t say much for your coffee,” he said watching the poor liquid run along the ground. “maybe we can get you another one, i could use one myself actually.”

sirius raised his eyebrow and nodded, “maximus. that is an interesting name.” the man quirked his brow up again and smirked, “certainly that is a bit of a sophisticated name. but max suits you well. seems very you.”

“my fathers are sophisticated men,” he said with ease. “both integral parts of the upper ease side in new york,, so they wanted to give me something that matched, i suppose,” max shrugged lightly. “thank you,” he gave him a small smile. “so, sirius.. i bet you’ve heard a plethora of jokes regarding that name,” he said with a light laugh “but i like it,” he grinned. “where are you from anyway?” he was curious.

   “shit, sorry!” jason states as he runs into the other, coffee cup stumbling to the ground. “fuck, i just got that, too.” he mumbles, looking up towards the other. “are you okay? i should have been looking.” 

Ethan gasped as he was run into unexpectedly, hot coffee being spilled to the ground. he jumped back slightly to try and avoid it but some landed on his shoes. He looked at the other, raising an eyebrow slightly “it’s okay--” he said thankfully, he wasn’t burned. “really, luckily the coffee didn’t land on any one of us, that wouldn’t have been good,” he said softly.

allison was easily one of the most gifted archers in her family, she was capable of using other weapons the argents used, but her first choice would always be her crossbow. allison pursed her lips, nodding slightly. she wasn’t going to pry, after all, she hated when her life was pried into, so she wouldn’t do it to a complete stranger. “ most people aren’t really archers, i suppose, ” allison stated, shrugging slightly. most people preferred weapons that required far less skill in her opinion. allison chuckled, licking her lips. she observed as alec hit the target, much like she did. “ well, while that is impressive, i wouldn’t call your skill superior to mine. besides that, arrogance makes your shot much less impressive to me. a great archer doesn’t need to boast about their success, you know. ”

alec shrugged “no i suppose they aren’t, i’ve not met any munane archers--” he said letting it slip slightly his term for humans. since, he was a shadowhunter. it was such an easy word to use, and just because he was in a new place, didn’t mean his vocabulary change in an instant. alec had no idea about allison, or her past or where her skills came from. he simple assumed she was a human with an archery hobby. alec’s target hit the mark, and it always gave him a slight jolt of excitement. he had trained for years to master this, he had to. being in the field, hunting demons, he couldn’t leave any room for mistakes. “Mm..” alec started with a light laugh “you sure about that?” he asked teasingly. “see, i don’t see it as arrogance, i see it as, knowing exactly, what i’m good at. so it’s not so much boasting as it is, knowing yourself,” he said to her. “if you’re good at someting you should be confident about it,” he told her. “i’ve trained since i was young, mastering this skill, i’ve had to,” he shrugged “so a little competition is always fun for me,” he grinned.

she gave stiles a quick smile, nodding slightly. the fact that she was able to make stiles feel better gave her a sense of accomplishment. “ yeah, of course. i’m glad i could make you feel better. ” allison hated the feeling of loneliness that weighed heavily on her, she didn’t have anyone here, really. she found herself wishing she was like stiles, scott and lydia, without memories that caused her so much grief. she wondered what it was like, part of her wondered if it was easier, living the lives they did. they didn’t have to deal with the memories of beacon hills, and everything they’d gone up against at such a young age. the brunette dismissed those thoughts from her mind, instead deciding it was best to focus on the present and not dwell on a past that only she could remember. mystic falls was a fresh start, in a sense, and she could be thankful for that. “ definitely, friends are really important to have. ”

stiles appreciated the sentiment “me too, no one wants to go around all day feeling bummed, so really, you helped me out,” he did prefer being happy over anything else. stiles would rather forget about his issues, put them at the back of his mind and focus on something else. he was really good at multitasking and burying his issues. maybe that was why it was hard for him to remember his true self, and true memories. they were buried so deep that even a friend he knew right in front of him was easily forgotten. stiles sipped his coffee, which only make him wide awake and a bit more hyper than usual. he normally limited himself to two cups a day but this was his third and he was feeling it. “exactly, they so are,” he said “i mean, i think i’d go a bit insane if i didn’t have anyone to talk to,” he gave her a smile. “so, where you do come from? if you’re not from here?” he asked curious of his new friend.

✿      ›      𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐲​.

brooke had been functioning on coffee for as long as she could remember, she didn’t understand how people out there hated it, she supposed they just needed better tastebuds. brooke nodded in agreement, smile still present on her lips. when she’d lived in new york, brooke heard of many strange dishes, but she’d never heard of meal worms in coffee, and she didn’t think she’d be a fan of the drink, either, but brooke didn’t want to be rude and judge what ethan liked. her brows furrowed in confusion as he mentioned something about the human world, she certainly was more confused, now.  “ i’m sorry, what ? what do you mean when you say the human world ? i’m kind of lost here. ”

They walked until they got to the small cafe and he opened the door for her to head inside first. he followed suit and the place smelled amazing, it was making him feel hungry as well. he could use something light, he didn’t like overloading himself throughout the day. he let out a small laugh “yeah, i would be too if i was talking to me,” he said running a hand through his long locks. “okay, since, i feel i can trust you, i know we just met but, you seem like a trust worthy person, plus i’ve already said a lot,” he laughed. “i come from a place called halloweentown,” he said softly. “it has magic, and creatures and well, everything that relates to it,” he said softly. “i’m a warlock,” he shrugged “and for me, this is the human world i’m in, my home is in another dimension..” he hoped he didn’t sound too insane.

“right? think of it like nap time in school except when you’re a fully grown adult. i think it could rejuvenate our entire world.” she said with a grin, nodding her head. and now, after all this talk, she really wanted a nap. even if she was wide awake she could definitely use a nap.  she shrugged her shoulders, “i mean, don’t they say that people would pay for just about anything these days? i think we could totally find a way to market it in order to get it all the attention.” she nodded her head. she smiled at him and nodded, “yeah, we’re already the best of friends. i think the whole bonding over sleep is what sets us apart from everybody else.” she laughed softly, teasing. but also maybe a bit serious because it was kind of true in a way too. “oh, i understand that. sometimes i’m up at night just thinking about the dreams i’ve had. it’s why i make so many clothes in the middle of the night. cause the dreams can wake me up sometimes.” she shrugged her shoulders. not that she loved talking about it but it was true still. “i do a lot of my own wardrobe. but i’ve also done some stuff that i put at the local gym for training wardrobe. and i’ve been thinking about selling stuff too. i kind of hop around all over the place with what i want to do, like decade wise and clothing wise.” she looked at him curiously and hummed, “you think you trust yourself. do you mind me asking why you’re second guessing yourself? cause if i’m friends with you i’d like to know.” she laughed at the thought of it. “aw nice! let me know when you’re free and i can even go with you.”

“you’re so right, it could! i know i’d personally feel rejuvenated, like, just go, take a nice nap. wake up, an you’re ready for like your entire life!” he laughed giving her a smile. the more stiles thought about it, the more he thought it was the best idea. he felt like people would truly make a fortune just having a place for naps. “alas i feel like something amazing as that would never exist, the world lives to make us tired, i’m serious,” he laughed more. he was enjoying his conversation with his new friend, he felt like they were really clicking. “aren’t we? i thought so, clearly, we’re meant to be best friends, kindred spirits,” he said with a small grin, she was sweet and easy to talk to. which was surprising because usually beautiful girls made stiles trip up slightly, so he was happy his brain was working right now with him, he’d have to thank it later and maybe treat it to a star wars marathon. “you’re right, it so does, i mean, having love of sleep in common, is the best kind of thing to have i common,” he grinned teasing back. “yeah? i mean i guess that’s one way to be productive, can’t sleep? make some clothes,” he said. “it’s cool you can do that i tried to sew once, each of my fingers needed a bandaid from being pricked,” he said shivering at the memory. “that, is so cool that you do that? making all that for everyone, so is that what you do for work like, you make clothes and sell them?” he asked her curiously. He grinned “well, i tend to trip up on myself,” he said “sometimes i feel like i know something and then i don’t and i get these blocks in my mind, and it makes me feel like i’m missing something,” he said. “yeah? that would be great.”

marnie nodded her head, smiling. “that’s very true.” and she could use more friends too. she was a bit of a social butterfly sometimes, but it wasn’t always that way. “i’d like to think that now we’re friends. food. whatever you’d like from the occult shop. a partnership for the ages, right?” she hummed with a smile. marnie liked being in this place, it was home. but sometimes it felt a bit like it wasn’t her home too. but it was nice enough that she was able to know where everything was and what she could do and be. smiling she looked at him, “thank you! i don’t think anybody’s done something that nice for me. seriously. i appreciate it.” she nodded her head listening to what he said and smiled. “well it sounds fascinating to me. kind of like a subsection of everything i’ve read about before but totally different. i’d love to hear more about that kind of world.” that was marnie, always looking to learn more about any kind of supernatural. as much as she could with everything that she had. she shrugged her shoulders and nodded, “that’s entirely possible. with glamours and everything, who knows.” she didn’t know if she could be fooled by a glamour, but she liked to think that she couldn’t be fooled but she probably would be tricked by one. “oh, i’m not really that trained or anything. but i can certainly try a little something.” she said with a small focus, looking at everything in the shop before picking something on the counter and making it float. “i think that maybe with training i could do more, but that’s the extent of it now. as far as i know, at least.”

alec smiled “yes it is,” he grinned playfully. “i can be right, some, of the time,” he teased slightly. being here alone, without anyone, it could get very lonely. so making friends felt important to alec. to keep him sane, to keep him feeling like he wasn’t so alone. marnie was sweet, and they clearly got along. her personality was strong and bouncy and some people could call alec grumpy. he was, he was broody and sarcastic at times, but here, he really wanted to be more than that. he didn’t have to worry about training, pleasing people, being head of the institute, being in charge. “i think so, i think that’s a great partnership,” he was pleased with the arrangement. “so when do you work next and i’ll come by, see what you have there at the occult shop,” he asked, he hadn’t been there yet, but heard of it and now that he had a friend there, he felt like it was about time of course. “really? no ones done something nice for you? that needs to change, right now,” he said as a matter of fact. He was glad that marnie liked hearing about his world, it was rather, out there, to some people he’s mentioned it to. mundanes, that’s how they were, but he knew marnie wasn’t a mundane, not at all. “i can tell you more, i’d be happy to,” he said with ease, appreciating it. “i have a rune that glamours me from humans,” he said showing her on his arm, “i use my stele to activate it, and it makes me invisible to anyone i need to, aside from shadowhunters. each rune here has a use,” he said to her. “yeah, try something, anything, training or not,” he said wanting to see. he watched her curious and when the small thing on the counter floated, he smiled “that’s amazing, you id great,” he said to her. “yeah of course you could,” he told her “i could help maybe, help you train and focus?” he asked her. 

piper shook her head at his question. she couldn’t remember ever being anywhere but here. but for some reason new york struck a memory. she couldn’t place it any further than the recognition of the place. the feeling like she knew somebody from there. which, technically she did if you consider her roommate to be that person. but it felt like it was more than that. “no, i’ve never been. i saw one of those off broadway plays on tour, though. that’s about as close as i’ve been to new york.” she explained. she nodded her head at his words and chuckled softly, “oh, yeah, people can be a bit…much. which is a very polite way of saying rude as hell when they appear to be even just slightly inconvenienced.” she shrugged her shoulders. but it was true. she was glad she worked back in the kitchens and didn’t have to deal with anything of the actual people in the place. “the town house cafe. i’ll make a deal with you. come visit me at work, and i’ll come visit you. i’ll be one of the easy customers that you don’t have to worry about.” she smiled. she turned to the tray that was out of the oven and picked up the tarts to move them to the cooling tray while she spoke. “a natural already. so, is there any kind of dish you like a lot? so i know what we could do to help you get better in the kitchen. i can come up with some recipes or stuff.”

Max smiled “oh did you, yeah, broadway plays are fun events to go to in new york, if you ever do go i’ll bring you to one of the big ones i think you’d really enjoy yourself. besides, it’s the least i can do considering you’ve cooked so much fun me,” he said softly, giving her a smile. he did want to do something for her, she was a great roommate and now he could say they were friends, which he was happy about. considering they lived together. He laughed “i know, it’s so bad, i don’t get why people have to act like dicks like that,” he said shaking his head, “next time someone’s a dick to you while working, just tell me i’ll happily, come tell them off. one thing about living in new york is that everyone is an asshole. you kind of get a thick skin and learn how to send them on their way,” he said thinking about his home, of course there were nice people in new york, it was just hard to find them sometimes. “the town house cafe, okay,” he said making a mental note of that. had he been there before? he didn’t think so, but at least now he would. “yeah?” he smiled “i’d love that, okay that’s a good deal,” he said with a pleasant smile. “you’re on,” he grinned at her, excited to pay her a visit now. “why thank you,  it’s appreciated,” he laughed lightly. he could use a nice customer, even if he could handle the rude ones, it got annoying at times. “i really like lasagna,” he said “but all the layers trip me up.”

“i don’t know exactly what i’m looking for to happen.” alice answered honestly. she felt like the town had something going on, especially given the fact that her premonitions had been a bit haywire since she’d arrived in this place. but she didn’t know how to explain it. “i just feel like this place feels a bit…too quiet?” she shrugged. it made her a bit uneasy, a bit worried. “well, what do you do for fun around town then?”

“yeah i guess, sometimes you just want things without knowing what you want, I get that,” stiles said giving her a soft smile. “yeah, i mean, it can get really quiet actually. especially at night. if you walk around at night this place can get, so creepy. you have no idea what will jump out in the shadows,” he said giving her a nod. “I like to hang at the mystic grill, um, hang out with some friends, you know, go to the movies, out to eat,” he shrugged. “normal chill, stuff,” he chuckled.

monica nodded her head, “it’s fine. i know i’m a bit… i can be a bit over prepared when it comes to cleaning. i just have a lot of specific ways that things can be done and living with people who don’t know is kind of difficult. but i should have prepared better, i guess. that’s more my fault i guess.” she was doing her best to allow for some sort of compromise, but monica was a bit of controlling person when she got to cleaning. obsessive when it came to how things were done. “no i should probably be making adjustments myself too. i expect a bit too much when it comes to everything.” which was completely true. but she never thought it was wrong to expect things to be done a specific way. “i like being organized, so label makers are worth it for me.” she nodded her head with a small smile. she made a face at the thought of using one towel for just about everything and nodded, “yeah, i could only imagine.”

“no no,” he sighed “i’m sorry, really, i mean it. i know i also can be a bit much too. and we do have to live together. i want us to get along and i want to respect you know, each other,” he laughed awkwardly. maybe he sounded a bit ridiculous but he did feel bad. he didn’t want to upset her in any way, or make her think she was over the top. he appreciated good sense in cleaning and the want to do it was wonderful. stiles never felt like it, maybe he was too down to do it. “it’s not your fault,,” he said with a nod. “being organized is great, i mean, you can help me be organized, my rooms a mess. maybe you could help me with it, and your label maker,” he said giving her a smile softly. “yeah,” he laughed softly. “maybe we can start over and be good friends.”

“oh, thank goodness. here i was thinking you were going to say i looked old.” she said. though, for the longest time her definition of old was some of the older people in the town she’d lived in by the fae world. now she’d met older people–older fae who looked practically around her age. “well thank you, but, i’m twenty-five. i’ve got years to become centuries old.” she shrugged her shoulders with a light tone in her voice. she nodded her head as she thought about everything. she liked hearing him talk about this magnus person. it made her feel comforted in a weird way. she could probably talk to feyre about her mate, but it was different to think of talking to feyre about it as well. “that’s quite a difference. the world is very different in so many aspects, though i think maybe our worlds are even a bit different coming from maybe different places too not just different times.” she explained with a shrug of her shoulders. “cassian? oh i believe he’s around…five hundred and thirty-eight?” she explained as she thought about it. she was almost certain about that fact, but if she’d missed a birthday or something in the time then maybe it was a bit different now. “history books and travel books, i’ll come up with something. perhaps i’ll bring something by the bakery for you!” 

“no,” alec laughed “look at you, you’re beautiful, not old at all, you look really young actually, so- i promise,” alec would never call anyone old just to mock them but nesta was far from it. she had a very youthful look, her skin was wonderful. he figured it had to be because she was fae, the seelies back home had amazing skin too and they all looked young. even the seelie queen could make herself look like a child, like anything she wanted and they were hundreds of years old as well. “twenty five, you’re younger than i am,” he told her “so you have that going for you,” he laughed lightly. he had a feeling he was older than her, but now she was forever 25 and he’d continue getting older. “so, pretty much, in ten years i would have aged, and you won’t, so, i think i’m the only one here who can worry about getting older. i sometimes think about it, it’s not something i’m excited for,” he said, vanity was always something that alec took pride in. he liked looking good, so aging wasn’t exactly something he wanted. alec gave her a soft smile “yeah, but i can’t help myself, age gap or not, i want them,” he said about magnus, missing him a lot. “yeah, i mean, the way you talk about your world. you’re right, there’s a lot of differences, even with the similarities. our fae are even different,” he said softly. he thought about the seelies and how they couldn’t lie and nesta was so different, he actually preferred nesta’s fae over a seelie. “wow,” alec laughed “so, we’re all just dating older men, cool,” he smirked at her shaking his head. “yeah? thank you that’s sweet of you, i look forward to it. i’ll make sure i have something good for you to eat.”

“i’d pinky swear to keeping it between us but you’d probably say that’s lame too.” she joked, a bit of a laugh in her words as she spoke and shrugged her shoulders. she didn’t know what to think of it all, but it was nice to be able to just relax a bit with someone who she’d just met. someone who didn’t know much other than the bit of what she’d told him about hawkins. “oh, that was a nickname? they weren’t just calling you out?” she asked, shaking her head. “my nickname was always madmax. but that was kind of, uh,” she paused for a moment before speaking again, “my step-brother called me it first and it’s been a nickname ever since.” it was weird, talking about it so lightly. without really explaining it. had she ever told her friends that the nickname had come from billy? she didn’t know. but that was the truth. “i don’t know. i think maybe we’re better off as friends.” she shrugged. “i think i kind of pulled away with a bit of everything.” she said it with a bit of a sigh and shake of her head. she wasn’t entirely sure, but it was kind of true too. everything seemed like she had pulled away, but it was like that–she’d been closed off for so long. “oh, dull? come on now. you’re living in this age with all the technology and a bunch of everything else.” she waved a hand in a vague gesture to things but she didn’t really know what else was different. in the amount of time that had passed she was pretty sure that it could have been just about anything different now. “oh, totally. i’m sure we could find some…what would you say…old school? old school arcade games for me to show you how to play. and win, because i had the high score in most of them.” she laughed, nodding her head. it was true, though. “well, if you get a skateboard of your own then we can go on rides together. but i’ll still hold your hand to make sure you’re balanced.” she assured him. 

“hey, no way, pinky swears are not lame, in fact. that can be our thing, pinky swearing,” max laughed lightly. they were clearly cheesy friends and it was welcoming to max. it was much different to his friends back in new york. where there was just, big scandals, always trying to one up on another. gossip going on, trying to gain followers. no one was well, really real. maybe accept a small few, so he appreciated this and max and enjoyed being her friend. “well, maybe they were calling me out at the same time-- now that you say it like that..” he laughed awkwardkly. “okay, so maybe it was a really bad nickname and i actually don’t have a proper nickname. maybe you can give me one but make it like, really cool,” he suggested. “madmax, fuck, that’s a great one- what made you like, mad? or was that just the ironic part of it?” he asked curiously. mad max was a really good one, fuck, maybe all the good ones were taken.  max understood that “being better as friends is sometimes a good conclusion to come to. not a lot of people can do that, an understanding between the two of you and you still don’t need to lose him from you life..” he wanted to make her feel better about it all. max appreciated her opening up to him when it may have been a bit hard, but he wanted her to feel safe with him as she did. “sometimes, when there’s so much going on, it can do that, it can just, take the lead and control of your relationship..” he didn’t want that for his own relationship. it was still fresh but it was something amazing for him and he wanted to really give it his all. “yeah, old school, you’re right. see, you’re already learning the lingo, you fit right in,” he laughed softly. “we’ll find one and you can teach me, they sound pretty awesome,” he said. “okay, i’ll buy one, maybe you can help me pick out  a good one you know way more than i do,” he said to her. “well, see, aren’t you just the best friend ever, offering to hold my hand,” he grinned teasing.
