God doesn’t just give us blessings, He also gives us tools that He expects us to use for the benefit of His kingdom.
Take the Bible for example.
God says that His Word never returns to Him void, and that it always accomplishes what He intends it to do (Isaiah 55:11). This means that the Bible isn’t meant to only bless us, but also convict, correct, and call us out blatantly for our sin against God. As such, His Word becomes the primary tool through which God uses to till His garden; getting rid of the rocks so that more flowers and plants can grow.
The same is true with what God blesses us with. Everything that we have received God is intending be used and received back in multitude (see the parable of the talents).
God gave Moses his staff, and he used it to part the Red Sea and display His power before Pharaoh.
God gave David a slingshot, and he used it to kill Goliath.
God gave Jesus a cross, and He used it to conquer our sins and give us victory over them.
God will always give you something that He wants you to use for the betterment of His glory. This could be your money, your voice, your home, your talents, etc. It’s by giving back to God what He has given us that we become good investments, and thus, receive more from Him.
David killed Goliath and became king of Israel.
Jesus died for our sins and was exalted to the right hand of the Father.
Moses helped split the Red Sea and was intended to inherit the Promised Land (but that’s another story).
Ask God today what He has placed on your hands, then ask how you can give it back to Him and use for the sake of His glory. And don’t be disappointed if it seems like you don’t have much, you’ll be surprised with what God can do when He seemingly doesn’t have a lot to work with.
