I now present the follow up to Tour de Tucson part 1. It's been quite the journey and I have the video to prove it. I edited this little video together for everyone who's taken the journey with us.

Thomas Rex finally grabbed a gig at Congress! We made a whole day of it and captured the magic on video. I edited a little something together for all you who missed our set and this monumental moment!

Before Alex left we set up some microphones in a living room and started making crazy sounds. Sounds like the good ol days when Thomas Rex was first born. Just pure psychedelic werid funky improvised crazy tracks. Hope you enjoy!

Thomas Rex: Phase IV

Phase 1: Taylor, Asa and Alex spark a wildfire and make magic. Phase 2: Asa steps out and Max fills the void. Thomas Rex also adopts a bass player! Phase 3: Thad steps out, and Steven steps up… Alex prepares to leave to Mexico. …and now, Phase 4: Alex says adios, and we adopt backup guitarist Michael... Thad makes a triumphant return. Taylor is the only founding father left and is slowly gathering more Rexians to build his sound. What was once a funny little 3 piece band now has become a sexy 5 headed beast.   Phase 4 players: Taylor on vocals Steven on lead guitar Michael on noise guitar Thad on bass Max on drums It is very sad not to have Alex here as my main man. He was always more of the leader and I was more of the wildcard. A lot of people in the band have had to step up their game, especially myself! I am now captain of a strong ship set out to forge a path of awesomeness in these Tucson streets. But lately Thomas Rex has had to take a step back. I realized the more we were playing live shows and getting ourselves out there, the more I felt like I wasn’t being true to myself. I felt like a fake… a phony. As much as I love being center of attention, Thomas Rex is not supposed to be a dancing monkey…  I’m not making this music for you; I’m making it for myself first. With that mindset we’ve pulled back on the live shows and have been more focused on writing new music and recording everything we can so we can keep moving forward. We’ve met some very cool bands along the way that I’m proud to call my fellow Rexians. Emory and PIPELIGHTS are among those bands. I look forward to building a strong team of local musicians; like creating a Justice League of local rock artists! A team that can work together and put on amazing shows and events! I still have many big plans for Thomas Rex just waiting to be hatched. For now, we hibernate, and wait for our time to strike with force… 

This video takes place when our beloved Thad took a surprise hiatus and our intern Steven had to step up and learn our songs on bass AND some on guitar. In this particular video we are at our current practice space, the Warehouse, trying to record as much as we can before one of Rexs founding fathers, Alex, leaves back home to Mexico…

It’s time for Thomas Rex to take Tucson by force. Show the people we are a force to be reckoned with...  Thomas Rex cannot be stopped! It cannot be slowed down! We are a juggernaut of Rock and Roll music and sexy aggression!
