I really do like triptychs. It’s not done by cutting a photo into three peaces. It’s about developments left to right or vice versa. It’s about developing colours, patterns, luminosity, transparency, sharpness etc. etc..

I learned a lot concerning triptychs from Martin Timm, a german photographer from Düssseldorf. He recommended haiku to me. Haiku coming out of buddhistic tradition is a certain way of recognition put into short three line poems. They also include elements which develop from the first to the third line. This is an excample of old Haiku master Matsuo Basho who lived in 17th century:

“Old pond A frog jumps in – The sound of water”
