tldr: iāve had issues in the past which now make me super anxious every time i hear about a celebrity iām a fan ofās love life, and because of this, if i see anyone i follow discussing the situation iāll be unfollowing (at least until this all blows over). if you want more of a description, itās under the read more, just donāt want anyone thinking i unfollowed for no reason.
soooo back in like 2015/2016 i was a really big fan of 5SOS and their music was one of the only reasons keeping me happy at the time. i found the Internet and fandom as a world I could escape to when i was feeling down and i could talk to people that liked the same things i did and understood how i was feeling/why the music mattered to me as much as it did. around that same time, the dreaded rolling stone article about them was released and all hell broke loose. people in the fandom were arguing and yelling, and the topic i remember most was luke hemmingās girlfriend at the time, arzalea (lol). i just remember thinkingĀ āwow i canāt even use the place i escape to as an escape anymoreā, and i just felt so low in that time that i attempted. the one thing that made me happy in life suddenly couldnāt make me happy anymore.
thatās why i was relieved to find that tom was very private about his dating life. hearing about celebrities that i use to escape and their love life always makes me sososo anxious because it takes me back to that time when i was at my lowest. so yāall can imagine that right now iām not... in the best place.
so i hope that yāall understand that if i see anyone on my dash discussing the so-called relationship (which we have no proof of btw, i recognize this but it still makes me nauseous just thinking about how some fans will take it) i will be unfollowing, at least for the time-being. especially now, i need to take my own mental health into account. i also probably wonāt be online for the rest of the day (iām never really online anymore so u probably wonāt miss me too much lol)
