Introduction: The Rebeu π«π·
Rebeu is the colloquial term for an Arab from North Africa. In the modern sense, it can describe the Francized North African - an emerging ethnic group in the Mediterranean that resulted from France's partially unsuccessful attempt to turn North Africans into Frenchmen. They represent one of the most recent European ethnic groups with roots in the Middle East and North Africa. A Rebeu may wear a side-part hairstyle with a sharp line shaved into the side, dress in attention-grabbing designer clothing, or grow long hair. Many speak a form of French that incorporates North African loanwords. Currently, most Rebeus live in Marseille, Paris, and Lyon. With continued demographic change and cultural influence, their culture may expand beyond the Mediterranean region.
I don't know about you guys, but I personally want them to take over France because their soft culture is useful, and also, they're pretty hot upon closer examination. Side parts have always turned me on; that, combined with Arabness, Mediterranean sun-kissed skin, BBC genetics, and being uncontrollably established deep within Europe, makes the Rebeu by far my favorite type of Arab. French music is pregnant with Rebeu culture. See the rapper Jul, who's of Kabyle descent. He's been the most-streamed artist on Spotify in France for five consecutive years (2021β2025). See the duo PNL, both of whom are from North Africa. They peaked at number one on the French Albums Chart and sold over a million copies worldwide.
We can tell Macron probably likes them too.
How about you?
