Prophesying  not  such  a  request  (  spoken  as  a  demand  ),  Yukako  subdues  muscles  tenacity  to  tighten  with  impassive  indignation  —  though  there  is  no  suppressing  brows  constriction.  Kaigaku  bears  not  a  joking  personality,  so  there  is  no  doubt  that  he  means  what  he  says,  nor  is  there  room  for  quick  -  witted  interjections  with  intent  to  retract  if  he  did  not…  “  Why  would  I  want  to  do  that?  ”  Mulling  flounders  in  sidetracking  her  from  what  needed  to  be  asked,  Yukako  appreciates  neither  his  dismissive  tone  or  his  pettish  attitude.

      the thought in his mind was, why wouldn’t she?  but that kind of arrogance was frowned upon, he could hear jigoro scolding him now. still, kaigaku knew something like that would be asked, it would be foolhardy if she agreed like that, brows furrowed as he spoke

      ❝my former teacher was the old thunder pillar, kuwajima jigoro. i’m more than capable to be taught by another person with your experience.❞ yukako may not have been the current love pillar, but kaigaku wasn’t fond of her. too soft for his liking. yukako fit his bill perfectly.

    “You’re the one who came at me!” He protests, jumping away from that lightning covered blade. He can smell the ozone in the air and the static is making his hair stand on end. The only reason why he’s even fighting back is because he doesn’t want to find out if Kaigaku’s corrupted blade would kill him if his head got lopped off.

    He looks from side to side, then jumps to the left and scales up a tree to catch his breath on one of the lower branches. “When I said you could come back here if you needed space from the other Upper Moons…I didn’t mean you could attack me!”

     ❝it’s not like im gonna kill ya! it’s just a good fight between friends!❞ however, a good fight involved both parties agreeing and not kaigaku going to the full strength of his abilities. a scoff as he watched rui run and hide in a tree. how cowardly. he lowered his blade for a moment, looking up at the other boy with a scowl.

How saccharine is the sound of distant storms brewing? To know that people will be rushing from the open streets back to their home. She’ll watch like a cuttlefish sprawled across the ocean floor, schools of minnows flurrying above her head, except in this situation, she’ll be the one on top. Kaiya will sit on her throne of salt-crusted boulders on the edge of a cliff, the villages emptied once her presence graces their atmosphere; clarity made muddle; sunshine threaded into thunder’s wrath.

Thunder much easier to withstand than the opposing demon. But she’s reluctant to shake him off, ambivalent that he’d let her go free of charge or if she’d even want to leave him stranded at all. Kaiya tucks short strands behind her ear, the wind too harsh in its kisses when she twists around to meet his eyes; the grace of a doll with metal joints, rusted and unpolished. There’s envy laden in her gaze.

      as if. during his loneliness, kaigaku wanted nothing more than these memories to disappear so he can continue his life with no worries. without the scorn of jigoro, the accusing fingers of his peers, scorning him for stealing all their money. at first, he thought this was a good thing. it set him apart from other demons, who forgot their past and wished to remember. he knew and rejected this, but on days like these, it became overwhelming. it wouldn’t be so bad to forget.

     demons like her wanted that memory back. blue gaze turned to her, brows beginning to furrow. whatever her problem was, he didn’t know or even cared. wind sharply blew against his face, he believed the weather was going to change for the worst, he almost questioned if it was her fault.

      blood dripped down kaigaku’s forearm, deep gashes caused by hardened strings that rivaled blades. the wound would close, these damages meant nothing to him. his annoyance, however, meant everything in this little skirmish. experience or not, he was upper moon six! rui used to be the weaker of the lower moons, a group that was previously destroyed by their lord. he was meant to be better, a cruel laugh spilled from his lips, grip tightening on his hilt.

      ❝oh please. i know that! but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t know your place under ME!❞ he launched himself again, sword covered in lightning with his second breath, in their attempts to sear the flesh right off rui’s bones.

LUCK? THERE’S NO LUCK DURING A BATTLE,   only strategy  &  power. it’s clear by now this particular demon was once a slayer, judging by his attire, which is what lead to sayu’s peaking curiosity. what could’ve caused this individual to stoop as low as to become a demon after unassumingly dozen killings of said kind he became to be? how desperate can you be?

another technique aimed right at her broke her trail of thought, causing her to take a step back  &  mutter: blood demon technique …  deadly silence, under her breath which repeat the same, quiet dodge from before. this time, however, she rushed forward, flexibly dodging each attack, then suddenly reappeared right up kaigaku’s face.

❛ …you shouldn’t underestimate your opponents. ❜   is all she said before amplifying the waves’ intensity ( absorbed out of sonic energy her footsteps provided ) in her leg  & … kicked the other demon right in his gut which sent him flying in high velocity to a nearby tree.

     he recalled something that felt like ages ago. jigoro’s voice was clear in his head, another success at his part for learning the sixth breath that went with thunder breathing. the old man believed him a prodigy, back then. but his heart was never in the right place, however, kaigaku didn’t give a damn about that. the first breath as weak in comparison to the other six. he WAS the best! so, why should it matter?

      but now, jigoro’s dead. the pride he once held for him no longer mattered, did it? yet, he still hung onto it. there was no way this woman could beat him, she was a nobody! just as that thought crossed his mind, she was before him again, words disrupting his thoughts, but before he could swing again, she delivered a strong kick to his midsection, and to his dismay it sent him flying, colliding into a tree. air was robbed from him, leaving a devastating crack in the tree, body crumbled to the ground.

      he struggled to be on all fours, gaze immediately turning to sayu, trying his best to catch his breath. no, he was wrong. this was no average demon. no matter how you looked at it, the power muzan-sama gave him was absolute. your average demon had no chance against an upper moon, even if he was the last one. brows furrowed in a glare, hand still tight around the hilt of his sword. he needed answers, now.

     ❝hmph.❞ easier said than done, for kaigaku regrets were the only thing he managed to bring about it. if his feelings weren’t in such a knot, he wouldn’t be caught dead sitting on a rock near the other demon, making idle conversation. but it would seem that his life was changing drastically, control slipping through his grasp. but he couldn’t imagine this girl was even interested.
