one of my favorite things is that there is surprisingly little scientific literature about the common house cat, because it turns out cats are the least cooperative research animals on the planet. They don’t care what you want them to do. food? you know what, we’ve decided we’re not even hungry right now. what is this, a maze? we’re gonna sit right here and lick ourselves for the next forty-five minutes, what are you gonna do about it.

Today at therapy was really hard. I was sitting here crying, and generally being miserable, when I felt a nudge at my knee. I looked down to see that Zeus, my service dog, was doing his job… and brought me a potato. it is very hard to cry with a gift of potato.

okay but for real veterinarians do not get enough credit for what they do. i took my dogs to get blood drawn yesterday so i could buy them more heart worm medicine and my scottie dog who is extremely chill and super friendly happens to be extremely afraid of needles. so afraid in fact that he didn’t just flail and cry, he projectile pooped at least 4 feet away from the table he was standing on. and the fuckin vet was just like “haha he must be scared poor little guy i’ll give him a treat” and just continued doing her business 100% normally. vets man i’m sure they see this kind of nonsense all goddamn day please go find a veterinarian and give them your personal thanks.
