Into the unknown

“Well, I didn’t think I looked that bad.” Melina laughed lightly, shaking her head. “But you’re right, the blonde really doesn’t suit me. But this means I’m getting you back and you’re playing dress up for the store one day!” 

“You looked fine, don’t let them get to you.” Jamie was just grateful that she had managed to talk Melina into helping her considering the last minute request for an Elsa to also attend. “You looked better than I did and I am blonde.” She teased with a roll of her eyes. “Of course, I promised a favour of your choosing for doing this for me.”

Theo looked down at his hastily put-together Olaf costume that matched her Anna perfectly and then back at Jamie. “Do you really think they’ll believe I’m Olaf, though? It’s a tough role to fill when you’re not actually a snowman.” He gasped and you could practical see the lightbulb floating above his head. “Maybe I should take a bucket of actual snow with me! Or, wear it! No… that might melt… But the bucket!”   

“They’re children, Theo. They will notice the similarities and put it together and automatically love it.” Jamie had to bite her lip to keep herself from laughing, not wanting to put a damper on his enthusiasm. “No, maybe not this time. We wouldn’t want to scare them and have them thinking you’re melting.” 

Justin couldn’t help but grin at the teasing. He mirrored her movement and crossed his arms across his chest. “Well, as an American I feel like it’s my duty to make watching Disney films part of my personality traits. Though there isn’t anything wrong with a good disney film. Are you… judging me?” He asked, pretending to be offended at the very thought of it.

“I approve, I wish more people agreed with your way of thinking. I’d like to think there wouldn’t be as much negativity.” Jamie let out a playful gasp as if completely offended at the accusation. “Me, judge? No, never. I could never do such a thing.”

Connor knew that he needed to start trying with people because eventually Marcus was going to get sick of his ass. Him and Jamie butted heads at every market though and often argued about what the other was grown. Tomato was a fruit goddamn it. “Yeah, soon you’ll see me playing Jesus in the revival of Jesus Christ Superstar,” he rolled his eyes but was smiling nonetheless.

“I could see it. Grow your hair a little, your beard.” Her shoulders shrugged and a grin finally forming as she was no longer able to hide it. “Face for broadway, anyone ever tell you that?” Pleased she had finally gotten a smile from him.

Coming back to Aramore had been something that Jadyn had never expected he would do. The small town had been just a distant memory, yet he’d needed a fresh start, as well as some peace and quiet, and this had been the perfect place to do it. Or so he’d thought. He was walking down the high street when he first saw her - a vision of pink against the crisp white of the snowy town - and, at first, he hadn’t recognised her. But then she spoke. “JJ?” He replied, confused. His eyes ran over her quickly, calculating. Maybe it was her, maybe it wasn’t. It seemed impossible. 

Of course there was no doubt to who that voice belonged to, and no way that Jamie had managed to forget it so easily, though that didn’t mean she was so willing to accept it either.There was no one else who called her JJ. In fact if she could carry on living in denial, it would make Jamie feel better, after all that’s what she had been doing about the rumours with him being in town. She had kept telling herself that there were lots of people that had the name Jadyn, it didn’t have to mean that it was her Jadyn. Not her Jadyn. 

If she didn’t answer or turn around then there was always the possibility that he may think he had the wrong person. Biting her lip after a brief moment of hesitation, she kept on walking.

Task 001 - About Jamie Stewart

So many things. My work, both the farm and also the children’s parties. A good book. Oh and some really good food.

Oh, that’s a good one! I like this question. I suppose I wouldn’t really have time to travel to back to my home town, so would be my roommate Melina. I wouldn’t say I’m particularly close to anyone in town, though considering I’ve been here three years it’s a little embarrassing. I really need to change that.

Spring. Or Rather for the snow and cold to ease up slightly. I run a farm so I’m not sure how my crops are supposed to survive at this rate. Wish number two, my friends and family to be happy and healthy. I’m not too sure, I’m rather happy and content with my life so I don’t know what I would wish for.

Cassie smiled as the woman approached her, relieved that she hadn’t scared her away. A small laugh escaped her lips as she spoke and she nodded her head softly in response. “Just a little.” Sometimes the world got to be too much, too small and enclosed, and Cassie just needed to let it grow back to its original size again. “I’m Cassie. I don’t think I’ve seen you around town before. Are you new?” 

“It’s perfect here, one of my favourite spots for when I just want to forget everything around me.” She confessed still trying to figure out where she had seen her from. “What’s your definition of new exactly? I’ve been here a little over three years now. I own Thistle Farm?” Jamie was still unfamiliar if everyone knew about her business, having only recently started attending the market to sell some of her produce.

Jamie never saw it coming, one minute she was walking along the street making the most of the quiet before everyone else was waking up and interrupting the silence, and the next she was sprawled out on the ground lying in the snow. The air escaped her as she landed with a thud, a groan automatically falling from her lips as she could feel the cold and wet seep through her clothes. All she wanted was to a nice jog to wake herself up and set herself up for the day and now she was receiving a completely different wake up call that had her regretting ever leaving the house.

Taking the offered hand, she allowed him to help pull her up as one hand moved to rub her lower back. Jamie hadn’t even noticed who she had bumped into until she heard his joke, as much as she didn’t want to, she couldn’t keep the small smile off her face as she rolled her eyes. “Well if it isn’t Walt or should I be calling you Hans?” Her tone was teasing and light as she tried to show that there was no harm. “You in a rush somewhere?”

Seeing a gorgeous puppy running around the streets without an owner had been the deciding factor on dragging Jamie out of the comfort of her house and the warmth that accompanied it. She’d had enough sense about her to grab her knitted hat and scarf before leaving to try and give her some kind of heat as she walked the streets trying to locate the poor thing. 

It had been about half an hour since the blonde had been out and had seen the dog three times, yet every time she had gotten close, the bundle of fluff darted in the opposite direction determined not to be caught. It was getting to the point that Jamie was worried it would be caught by a car and hurt, which was the whole reason she hadn’t given up yet. Seeing another person in the street had her pace slowing as she noticed he seemed to be waving her down and attempting to get her attention. Her head tilted ever so slightly as she took him in and eyes widening as she realised who it was causing her cheeks to redden, which she hoped could jut be accountable to the chill. 

“I-- uh, yes. He doesn’t seem to want to be caught though. Is he yours?”

After a long day of working at the farm and getting her fresh veg produce ready for the market the next day, all Jamie wanted to do was head to her spot and just forget the day and not move for a few hours. When she got there, she was surprised to see someone had already beaten her to it and not someone the blonde knew, though her face looked somewhat familiar. “You need a break from the world as well?” She smiled and dropped down next to her. “Hi by the way, I’m Jamie.”

Protect- The small McMorgan kid. I don’t know, there’s just something about him that makes me think he needs to be wrapped in bubble wrap. I don’t think he’d even realise if someone were showing animosity towards him.

Attack- I think Connor and I have gotten pretty close a few times when it comes to the market. And maybe also when it comes to what each of us are growing.
