this silent storm

can such a thing exist

within the gloomy mist

can brightness throw

a warming glow

into the dark abyss

and joy be found

where fear abound

the beauty of living,

so often lies

the me you see

is the me you know,

The driving sun is fading fast

and still the road winds on

leading us down into the night,

Taunting our determination

to arrive before the light.

But ours is not the fate of

countless other weary souls

zombie-gripping steering wheels

in search of hotel beds.

Slide inside and buckle up

We'll share a mile with you.

Yes, we know the music's loud

you'll soon see why no doubt.

When we sing, we really sing

and let our emotions out.

Maybe that's the secret

of how we set our spirits free

and why the road length's meaningless

just ever so casually dropped,

so light and airy

but there’s deftness to the art

in asking questions of the heart

peculiar oddity

for we can clearly see the start-

her perfected,

angelic, deific

deftly wrapping their textual tendrils

Around her captive mind

Seeping, soaking, subtly

through every fiber of her soul

Until there is no clear distinction

Magic enthralls the eye of the child

Captured in a moment of rapt awe

Anything is possible and dreams are real

Pure innocence lays faith's foundation

Until cruelly collapsing under the

awakening moment of understanding

when wisdom forever alters trust.

Oh, illusions still hold wonder, but joy's
