Sebastian seems to be stuck in his thoughts as they wander to his car. Blaine took an uber here and Sebastian seems sober enough to drive so, Blaine doesn’t mind getting into a car with him to head to his place. He’s not quite sure how this night is going to turn out, whether he’s going to spend the night or anything but…he figures he’ll work it out when he gets to it.

He clears his throat, putting his seat belt on. “Yeah,” He’s not sure what else to add about Dave or the reason why he’s in Ohio in the first place. And maybe there’s nothing else to bring forth for now, “So how long are you hanging around Lima for? I’m assuming you’re not permanently living at your family’s home?”

“we’re on summer-mester. decided to come back home and take a breathe.” he mentioned casually as they reached his beautiful new BMW, a gift from his mother for getting into the university. it looked like sebastian had treated it like his baby. he went to the side and opened up the door for blaine. after the other got in, he walked on over to the other side and slipped into his seat. 

Blaine raises an eyebrow at the mention of Karofsky and lets out a soft laugh because, “Yeah, I uh, I know. This sounds so crazy but, Kurt and I didn’t end up getting married–which is a whole nother can of worms I’m not going to get into but, we broke up before getting back together. And I was dating Dave for a while.” He smiles a little, looking down at his hands.

Despite the fact that it probably should have never happened, he had liked Dave. He was sweet. Blaine was just trying to run away from bad choices, bad decisions, bad feelings–bad everything. It hadn’t been Dave’s fault he was trying to bury himself in something new, different, to take his mind off Kurt while at the same time trying to make Kurt realize what he’d lost.

What a mess.

“Anyways uh, yeah. He’s hot, and very nice. We didn’t end up working out but we talk a lot.” He runs a hand through his curls, “I’m not with Kurt. Again, if you…if you were curious.” He shrugs.

sebastian’s theory was confirmed (he wondered about not getting an inventation to their wedding, though he doubts he would be on kurt’s approved list of guest). but what threw sebastian off more was the mention of his ex-boyfriend karofsky. 

he wonders about those moments that he spent with karofsky-- there were times before blaine and dave. for sure, but nothing that lead to sex (kind of hard to do and prospects of being in the hospital due to a suicide attempt was not sexy. plus sebastian spent most of his time in the hospital avoiding the shit out of kurt. pretty damn lucky the piece of shit only visited once.). 

however there were moments when sebastian was back in town and he’d toll off to OSU to find him. there was never any love between their meetings. at least by sebastian. dave never mentioned blaine. though maybe the dumb football rattled mind couldn’t wrap around the fact that blaine and sebastian were connected. but what if dave had cheated on blaine with sebastian? that would devastate him, even though there were times that sebastian implied that blaine should’ve slept with him. regardless of his relationship with kurt.

naw, karofsky was too much of a bear like dog to even be capable of cheating. there was no way that they slept together while dave was in a relationship with blaine. though, his mind shook has he realized that he just bluntly called blaine ex-boyfriend sexy. as long as it wasn’t the other one that sebastian knew about, that was fine with him. 

his mind wrapped backa round to the time he spent in the hospital with dave. between them, there was a lot more im common that sebastian had ever let on. as blaine reminded him of dave’s softness, he could recall the exact feeling he got while he was sitting there, talking to dave. the first time he’d ever felt how soft that man’s large hands were. his heart pounded as he wondered what dave ever mentioned of him and what he and sebastian would discuss. 

no. dave knew the severity of their conversations. dave would never talk about anything that happened with him and sebastian. maybe due to an unspoken bond that somethings need to get buried and moved on from. 

Blaine grabs his jacket off a nearby stool and slips it on, giving a soft wave to the bartender who’s been serving him drinks all night. He walks outside with Sebastian, wrapping the jacket a little tighter around himself. A soft laugh slips from his lips, shaking his head.

He remembers when Sebastian first met him, how he’d called him a legend at Dalton. Still something that never fails to make him blush…but he can’t deny that he does like hearing it. Even though high school feels so long ago.

Blaine clears his throat, shaking his head, “No I uh, I haven’t really told anyone that I’m back here. I mean, it’s not a secret or anything–I’m just not advertising it.” He smiles loosely.

sebastian could see that there was something more to what was going on-- anybody could. very loosely, sebastian kept his composure and kept walking. “they’ve all caught college frat boy fever. i wouldn’t want to suffer through nick’s poor attempts at shot gunning anyway.” he snorted as he pictured of his paper thin friend drowning in a 12 oz can of beer. 

there were a lot of thoughts running through sebastian’s mind. what if blaine just broke up with kurt? this is what is coming of the sour mood and really blaine wanted to drop it at the bottom of a glass. what if something happened within blaine’s family-- something with his mother, father or brother and that’s why blaine was there. however, he thinks more of the latter. he would like to believe that if blaine was suffering that kind of lost, kurt would be with him... to comfort him. that is something that spineless little prick would do correct?

something that sebastian couldn’t get out of his mind though was college. blaine wasn’t just some high school crush, blaine was an idol. sebastian dreamed of bringing the warblers to the same level of glory that blaine had raised them too; not out of some resume booster (honestly, it didn’t really help him out as stanford looked over his portfolio) but as a personal project to him. blaine was the cap of that glory. him not being at a major university now? why is that the case. 

Blaine feels a rush of blush stain his cheeks because oops, oh. He…he totally read that situation wrong. Or maybe he hadn’t and Sebastian backtracked but, either way. It’s not like, one day, he wouldn’t like to get to know Sebastian like that. If things progressed. But he’s getting ahead of himself, isn’t he?

He smiles a little and shakes his head, chin dipping a bit. “Oh,” He clears his throat and nods, “Yeah, I’d…I’d really like that. We can go back to your place…for that.” And god he sounds so fucking awkward but, he’d like that. To talk. It feels like it’s been so long since they’ve been able to do that. And he misses it.

there was a ping of innocence of sebastian’s face. he really shouldn’t be acting like he wasn’t thinking about it. he finished off his beer, put down a 50 and stepped off the stool to gather his things. he waited for blaine to follow him and he walked out of the bar. 

“i wouldn’t be lying though-- the excitement of telling all my friends that i finally got to take one blaine anderson home is exciting.” he made sure that his face was calm and collected with complete drain of any malicious intent. he’d gotten good at this over his teenage years and mastered it in his one year in college. it helped that he really did feel it though. 

Blaine doesn’t feel outright disappointed at Sebastian’s suggestion, he gets where it’s coming from. In the back of his mind, he knows this was always part of Sebastian’s endgame when he met him at Dalton–to get him into bed. That was certainly part of his intrigue, to be sexually desired and wanted along with the package that was Sebastian Smythe.

But as much as Blaine might feel the same way…he doesn’t want to tumble into bed with someone else. At least, not right now. Not yet. It’s too soon since Kurt and if he wants to rebuild his relationship with Sebastian, there can’t be sex in the mix. At least, not yet.

“I uh,” He licks his lips, “Not tonight.” Blaine says gently, hoping he doesn’t upset him. “Sorry, that’s just not why I came out here tonight.”

once the answer came out of blaine’s mouth, sebastian put his hand on blaine’s wrist. “oh, hold your horses there tiger.” while he does think of blaine in that way (who could blame him though), his mind was turning more and more to the magic of being together alone. clothes were truly the optional with no aided budge by sebastian’s wants. if he could get alone with blaine, he wouldn’t risk their last meeting being some messed up memory of regretful sex. that risk was too great for one sebastian smythe to have immediate short term satisfaction. 

He remembers odds and ends things from high school, talking to Sebastian on the phone until the early hours of the morning. Just about absolutely everything, things he didn’t really talk to Kurt about because his ex was either too busy or didn’t want to talk about it. Blaine doesn’t recall specific conversations but random topics that they’ve covered. He misses that.

“No, I’ve never seen it,” He smiles softly, and can’t help but feel a little jealous that Sebastian seemingly has his life together while his own is crumbling apart. “But maybe you could show me one day, if you wanted.”

on the tip of his tongue, sebastian held the suggestion ‘why don’t we hop on a plane and go there now?’ though that would be his automatic motivation, it would just be a round about way to get blaine naked in the cool warm waters of the bay. but he with held his plan. 

in that moment, he ran over the day dream of running around with blaine on the west coast-- away from this poor excuse of a town. he still had this thought of the town he completed high school in, but he was a bit more appreciative of it now. he understood why his mom wanted to be here. though he was less understanding as a teenager. 

“one day.” he repeated with a smile. saying those word out loud meant that their relationship wouldn’t end-- that they had a future. whatever that future maybe. “and that’s one day, i think we should plan for what’s happening tonight. i’ve always appreciated scandel’s rustic vintage, but maybe we can get something a little bit better. i’d like to hear you a bit better if you want to come home with me.” 

Blaine nods softly, taking a sip of his very strong drink. For once he’s glad he doesn’t have to explain. Maybe Sebastian doesn’t care or is only half listening or maybe he knows him better than he lets on, like he seemingly always has. But whatever the reason? Blaine’s grateful that he doesn’t have to delve into Kurt, New York and NYADA. At least for right now.

He raises an eyebrow because, “Stanford?” He smiles and chews on his straw, “That’s amazing for you, Sebastian. Are you?” He asks after a moment, “Happy?" 

blaine was an open book. at least to sebastian. he read those little lines that were written by blaine’s relieved expression. something bad did happen. but this wasn’t the place that sebastian was going to pressure blaine about it. he wondered how fresh this wound was and what would be the smart way to move on. 

Blaine smiles a little and nods. Yeah, that actually sounds nice. He’d like to catch up with Sebastian–especially since he hasn’t seen or spoken to the other male in so long. Might be a nice distraction given…well, everything.

“Uh, not exactly. Or well, I’m trying out a community college here. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, just not what I expected to be doing. NYADA wasn’t really for me.” He smiles loosely, “What about you?”

sebastian’s confusion read across his face as blaine mentioned it. at the description of the college, nyada sounded perfect for blaine. it would be a curse if blaine’s talent was wasted on something as mundane as accounting or nursing. while he personally didn’t care much for the world, it would be a shame if nobody heard him. 

in the back of sebastian’s mind, he made a list of possiblities on why blaine isn’t at nyada. perhaps it wasn’t his calling and blaine didn’t like the stage; no matter how well it lit up at blaine’s presences. maybe blaine had family issues that drove him to be here. or maybe it was other issues that drove him away from new york. if this would be the case, he wouldn’t rest until he had kurt’s head decorating the mount above the smythe fireplace. at this thought, sebastian took a sip of his drink. 

he was curious if he should mentioned his thoughts to blaine. he’d always been transparent. but back in high school, sebastian would attempt to bring to light kurt’s horrific attitude. naturally, blaine was defensive for his love. sebastian admired this about blaine-- however it was really annoying. 

Blaine finds himself distracted by Sebastian’s hand as they linger at the bar. He admits that he’s thought about that a lot, about what it would feel like to hold Sebastian’s hand when he first met him. He’d taken his hand to tug him into the Warbler song when he’d revisited Dalton…but after that, obviously, he was dating Kurt and hadn’t thought about it again.

Not until later.

Not until now.

It feels nice, the softest pressure of Sebastian’s fingers against his own. He holds the taller’s gaze for a long moment as the shots are set on the bar. He knows the double meaning of Sebastian’s question–not just about the night but about them in general. If Blaine’s really willing to forgive him so that they can start over.

He finds himself holding his breath but he does not, “New beginnings.” He agrees, clinking their glasses and taking back the shot. He motions to the bartender for another round, his cheeks pinking softly from the alcohol.

“that sounds like we should keep these coming.” sebastian offers as he gestures to the bartender for another round. to give his stomach a bit of a break though, he made a note not to touch it for a moment. 

Blaine lets out a soft laugh and shrugs his one shoulder, leaning his forearms against the counter. He likes that Sebastian is offering to pay but he wouldn’t hold it against him if he decided not to. He’s kinda…unsure of where they really stand with one another, given that they haven’t spoken in such a long time.

He knows that they were good friends at one point, that Blaine was always super comfortable with Sebastian. So much had gotten messed up. He chews on his lower lip and smiles gently at Sebastian’s hand, letting his hand slip into the taller’s to squeeze for a moment before leaning over the bar to give his order to the bartender,

“Whiskey sour please, thank you.” He places his empty glass on the counter.

there was a giddiness that sebastian fought to suppress as blaine took his hand. sebastian held it loosely as they went over to the bar-- hoping that this wasn’t so desperate. still though, if something or somebody were to snatch sebastian away, he made sure that he would grip on tight to blaine. he wouldn’t let him go. not a second time. 

after blaine ordered, sebastian called out his own order. “give me a shot and a tall blue moon.” the bartender nodded at the two of them before trailing off to fulfill their order. he kept his hand wrapped around the tips of blaine’s fingers. 

Blaine smirks, moving his hips to the beat of the song. He’s always loved dancing–whether it was choreographed with the Warblers or other glee members or if it was just like this, free-styling. There was something about the beat filling his body and moving his limbs in accordance that made him feel relaxed and at ease. Sebastian was a good dancer too, the music filling him up the same way. They moved well together, even though they weren’t touching.

At least until the end of the song. He looks up at him and nods, the drink he has in his hand practically empty, nearly ice. He nods and follows him to the bar. “As long as you’re buying.” He teases.

“what kind of gentlemen would i be to let you pay.” he teased as he held out his hand. a simple gesture. if blaine took his hand, maybe that would be the start of their own romantic path. while sebastian personally would be devastated if it meant anything else but it would scratch a deeply seeded itch. 

he took in a deep breathe as he awaited blaine’s response. his mind flashed back to those first moments they had together back in the choir room. there he was watching the warblers performing. sebastian felt somebody observing. his body turned to see the man there. though they’ve never met, sebastian knew exactly who blaine anderson was. he knew that blaine might not known who he was, but that was okay. 

Blaine has no idea what to make of this–being back at Scandals, running into Sebastian, the boy looking so familiar and yet so different all at the same time. He looks good, though he figures that shouldn’t be at all surprising. Sebastian’s issues were rarely about how he looked or how he carried himself.

He was always beautiful to Blaine, and almost nearly out of reach.

He smiles as he stands beside him, chewing on his lower lip as he takes a sip of his drink and begins feeling the beat of the music. Blaine’s always been fond of dancing, doesn’t need a lot of encouragement to get started…and yet he feels sort of nervous in front of his high school crush as he begins swaying his hips and moving his arms. He really hopes they don’t get stuck in some sort of old Warbler combo.

“I didn’t expect to see you here,” He says, leaning closer so he can talk over the music. “I mean, I know this used to be your spot but…I thought you moved out of Ohio.” He supposes he’s one to talk–if anyone is out of place here, it’s Blaine.

“never forget your roots.” sebastian commented as he continued his moves. he made himself a little bit more able to dance and talk. however, with the increase in beat and volume, it was becoming more and more difficult. so he shrugged as a symbol that he would focus now on dancing. they could talk later. he reached forward and grabbed a hold of blaine’s hand to pull him into a two person move. 

Blaine chews on his lower lip, knowing that a tryst with Sebastian would be a bad idea just merely because, well…it’s been a long time since they’ve seen one another. Sebastian hasn’t exactly been the most trustworthy of people, they’ve had their up and downs. Blaine’s forgiven him for most of the past indiscretions but….he can’t deny that he hasn’t thought about him.

Especially after Dalton finished and he traveled to New York. Especially being back here after all this time.

He shakes his head but then lets out a soft huff of air because, God, it’s only dancing. Why not? He takes his drink with him and slips onto the dance floor, moving towards the taller boy he feels like he knew so well long ago.

“Long time no see.” He says over the music with a smile, “It’s nice to see you.”

there was a triumph smile that came to sebastian’s face as blaine stepped off the stool and toward him. his stomach turned. this was a moment that he had dreamed of whenever he was a teenager. now his boyhood crush was standing in front of him. 

for sebastian, just meeting up with blaine again after all these years was enough to satisfy this little part of him. something he had been dreaming about. maybe when he was younger, he knew he could never separate the other from kurt. therefore every time the younger man would text him, there was excitement in him. now, he was assuming that blaine was very much single and obtainable. 

there was doubt though. of course the two of them hadn’t really spoken in a while, so sebastian didn’t know why blaine was here. but he knew that something was missing. he’d prayed on men who had that similar look to blaine while he sat at the bar. or maybe he was imagining it hard because he craved blaine that much. before this night, it was a long time since he thought about blaine in this way. seeing blaine against tonight reignited that spark he used to have. 

Blaine leans against the bar, offering a soft smile in the direction of a man who slides up next to him. He’s really not interested in a quick lay or anything–he’s just here for a good time, mostly for himself. He hasn’t been broken up with Kurt for very long and while he’s okay with that decision, it doesn’t mean he wants to jump into anything else with someone too soon.

Not that a relationship is on the mind of any of the men here. He knows exactly what they want–and while he’s not a prude to a quick hand or blowjob, he’s not interested in that. At least not tonight…especially with half the men here are so much older than him.

Still, being here has its perks…he doesn’t really have to pay for any drinks. He nods as someone offers to buy him a mojito and he sighs, turning a little to glance at the dance floor.

And recognizes someone from his past. He smiles a little–Sebastian Smythe in the flesh. Looking just as beautiful as he remembers. It’s clear he’s noticed him too by the way he’s dancing and looking at the bar. He offers a soft wave, wondering if he should join him. 

“come on.” he mouthed to the other. his long figures beckoned the other with a wave. “come on over.” 

he wondered. why was blaine here? sitting in a bar alone. sure he had lost touch with his former crush, however he knew the man well enough to know the sighs. blaine anderson wouldn’t be here without kurt stuck up his ass. however, sebastian had his own kuradar and he couldn’t sense the other insight. therefore, blaine was here alone. 

Blaine smiles as he takes a look at Sebastian holding onto something so perfect. He hums gently, reaching out to touch the head of their son. His skin is still so soft, hair like velvet to the touch. He can’t believe they’ve managed to get another child so perfect…and while he might not agree with the world that they’re in sometimes, it doesn’t feel so bad right now.

He reaches down and scoops Rosie up, setting her on the bed, “Careful. No jumping so papa doesn’t jostle your brother.” Their daughter moves with very gentle, easy steps, wanting to be close to Sebastian and to look at her brother more closely.

rosie didn’t spare sebastian as a walking plank. she crawled right on top of him. he clutched onto louie and adjusted himself so that rosie could sit on him. he clutched louie hard though and didn’t let him go. he looked up at blaine.
