The Vampirism ! (for the vampire project)
(this isn't very scientific, but just go along with it okay)
current idea is that itâs a cocktail of a bunch of (mostly bacteria-eating) viruses. thereâs a bunch of different variations with different exact viruses and ratios, but the effects are roughly the same.
It makes the bone marrow produce more blood
The healing process is changed. Injuries heal slower at first and bleed a lot more, but then the healing speeds up (overall healing much faster than it would normally), and it heals much more thoroughly. Injuries rarely leave scars, and in some cases, they can survive injuries that are usually guaranteed fatal. Theyâre also much more resistant against infections.
For some reason, if garlic oils/residue is on the skin, that surrounding area will heal typically as if there was no vampirism
It changesâs the personâs sleep rhythm, so instead of taking one long sleep a day, they take several 2-3 hour naps each day. If they ignore this and try to sleep at a normal schedule, the healing isnât as effective.
The person feels a strong need to consume as much of the blood theyâve bled as possible, and will sometimes hurt themself solely to get blood. Blood from other people or animals works as a good substitute to feed the urge.
Francesca has an earlier version of the vampirism, which is more intense. Heâs also the only person to have the vampirism in his system for more than a few months. Because of this heâs developed more vampire traits -
The bloodlust is a lot stronger, she struggles to control herself when she sees blood (her own or others), and gets violent urges/thoughts especially when sheâs blood-hungry. Also has a tendency to bite people when she feels threatened
His canine teeth have grown longer and sharper
She is EXTREMELY durable, as far as she knows nothing can kill her. Has survived drowning, being shot through the head, strong poisons, more. She does have some effects/chronic pain from some injuries that couldnât heal completely (bullets stuck deeper in her body, hysterectomy that healed weird, broken bone that didnât get aligned quite right, etc)
Has a much higher pain tolerance, especially when he can taste blood
Has tapetum lucidum, so she can see in the dark , and her eyes glow like a catâs (doesnât really make sense but it looks cool ok)
might change my mind, but vampirism canât be contracted from other people by regular means (like sharing needles), you can only get vampirism if you are given a prepared sample. Maybe vampirism can be contracted regularly, but since its unlikely you get all the viruses+in the same ratio, the vampirism tends to be very wonky and more harmful
