“why would i risk puking my life away? no thanks. she should probably take a pregnancy test. but if there’s another baby on the way, i’m moving in with auntie,” gabby said, putting harper in a high chair. upstairs, ellie managed to take a few bites of her toast as she scrolled through her phone, but she didn’t want to eat too fast and risk making herself sick again.

“nah, you’ll be fine. gabby’s a ton of help,” she said. as she stood up, she groaned, leaning against him for stability. she’d been on the floor for so long her legs were numb. “my stomach muscles are so sore i’m surprised i still have a stomach,” she said. “i don’t think it’s possible to feel worse. but my belly says ‘feed me, seymour’.”

mason picked the girl up and smiled as he kissed her cheek. “the next couple of days you’ll just stay in bed and i’ll attempt to take care of all the kids,” he chuckled as he laid her down and handed her the toast. “just take a bit and then go from there. i’ll make you soup or something small, but you have to eat, baby.”

as soon as she was done getting sick, ellie took a sip from a water bottle to rinse her mouth out and spit it out before flushing the toilet. “yeah. i should win a grammy for it,” she muttered. she sniffled and whined as she rested her head in her hands, doing her best to keep herself from crying. “i hate this… i feel like i’m dead.”

“Well lucky for me you are not because we have way too many kids for me to take care of,” he chuckled as he sat on the floor with her and rubbed her back. “lets get you into bed though,” he said softly as he helped her her up. :i hae a piece of toast on your nightstand. see if you can eat that because you are gonna feel a whole lot worse without food.”
