this is a blog about my obsession with two teenaged wizards falling in love without realizing it while first dooming and then saving the world

there will soon be Scorbus fanfic from me because I cannot stop thinking about how incredibly fucked up and traumatizing what they went through is and I need to do something about that. and in lack of people to yell about this with I am writing fanfic, you know, like a normal person

but honorable mentions go to the one show where we had an old Ginny jump back in and bless heart, after the final battle when they have Delphi bound she checked in with both Albus AND Scorpius! at least someone checked on my poor baby after he lived through a potentially deadly battle where he had to watch his best friend and their whole family be nearly killed by a homicidal maniac. please for the love of God I need more actors to acknowledge Scorpius's presence in that scene

I think if I saw it that much voluntarily I might need help. Definitely financially 😅

but the evening show, I really really liked!

Scorpius was just so great in the fight in the library again. especially when they're back out after hiding and he's still so incredibly upset he physically doesn't know what to do with himself, kinda clawing at his own arms and almost trying to disappear into himself, being obviously physically uncomfortable. as someone autistic, I feel very seen in that reaction.

Albus apology felt very sincere and then after he pulled Scorpius into a hug and they part, there was this beautiful lingering moment where they just stared at each other and then realized it and very awkwardly and abruptly turned away. This is the teenage first crush experience I'm here for.

Loved the owlery scene too. Scorpius is just full on confessing his crush here, there's really nothing ambiguous about it anymore the way he played it. And Albus reaction was a very surprised "Oohhh.." that honestly didn't sound like he was receiving it well but then he turned it around by awkwardly turning away and then back and continuing with the softest "Good". Like you could see his brain needing to play catch up and when it does he's was so happy about it!

Summary:

They tried to save Cedric and they failed. And now they were stuck in this alternate reality that was so similar to theirs but so messed up. And maybe it wouldn't be quite so scary or feel quite so awful if Albus would at least talk to him. But Scorpius finds his best friend avoiding him at every corner and that's not something he's ever had to deal with. But he's coping! Right?

in some of them you mention the draco actor and are you referring to Tom Felton?

The fight in the library was brilliant! Scorpius got so upset during his monologue it was truly heartbreaking to watch. And I really liked how Albus reacted when he started the apology later. The comment about not talking enough about Scorpius' mom had such a sadness and guilt to it.

I love this scene in general. Because for one, it gives this one truly emotional outlet for Scorpius, but I like it most for Albus' reaction. I've seen so many different actors in this role and the way they react to Scorpius' outburst and how they apologize, for me, is one of the moments where I think you can really see their interpretations differ. And leaning into the guilt about it is one of my favorites. (since my favorite understudy whose reaction always read as 'oh god I fucked up. I upset scorpius! I could lose him over this and I can't lose him! He's the most important person to me! I have to make sure I never ever hurt him again!' is gone)

The owlery scene was also really good. It was so clear that Scorpius has feelings for Albus at this point. Maybe he doesn't quite know what exactly they are yet but there is no way you could've interpreted this scene differently today. Especially because Albus' adorable 'this is awkward but I'm pleased' reaction to the whole 'I'm fighting for you' build on that assumption too

The scene in Godric's Hollow didn't stand out today. Though both their reactions to figuring out the blanket thing were very excited.

And then the palace of Harmony staircase scene at the end. Albus really continued to run with the whole 'I have no idea what this is. It's new. It's kinda awkward. But I Really don't want it to stop' vibe and boy is that the cutest and most teenage thing. Like, he was ready for the hug! And then sure he says 'I thought we didn't hug' but what it felt like he's really saying is 'god I'm so glad this is happening!'

And then, the thing that really killed me cause I don't think I've ever seen or at least I never noticed it before: when Scorpius walked off, he did a little happy 'yes' gesture. You know the thing you do when you're really happy over something that just happened so you want to jump and scream in excitement but you're in public and the person involved is still right there so you have to tone it down? Yeah that. Which is so cute and just screams crush. Like why else would the mere fact that they shared a reciprocal hug and are gonna see each other again for dinner evoke such a reaction? Yeah. I loved that so much it had me grin like a Cheshire cat.
