I just can’t help but feel he’s justified in feeling the way he does.

Maybe, but so were you. Just because someone is right doesn’t mean the other person is wrong.

You don’t have to convince me. I know I did what was right, at least to me. But Clint doesn’t see it that way. He doesn’t let me explain much either. 

He’s a stubborn hot head. Once he has his mind made up about something, it’s not so easily changed. You gotta be just as stubborn. “No, you move.” Remember?

A few times. But he’s really stubborn, and I get why he’s angry at what I did. 

You were trying to save your friend. He’s not entirely innocent, but he’s someone that needed saving, that’s what we do right?

Well, he hates me, that’s one thing. And during that meeting we had because of the alien invasion, well… things have been tense since then. What worries me is that he doesn’t seem to… be close with anyone here. 

Yeah...I remember. [She drives in silence for a while, thinking to herself.] Have you tried talking to him? Clear the air?

I suppose… she is Bucky’s type, physically, that’s for sure. 

Talking about Barton. What do you think of him?

He’s okay. I haven’t talked to him too much, but we train together sometimes. He’s always interesting to talk to. Why?

I think he’s not ready to talk about it. I don’t even know if he’s ready to call that a relationship. I’m just glad he’s got someone else asides from me.

For what it’s worth, they’re a good match. Barton’s told me about some of the stuff she’s been though...if anyone can help him, it’s her. Besides you, of course.

I’ll bring him. Just not sure if he’ll want to ask Natasha out. He still pretends there’s nothing going on between them. 

Oh please…anyone could see those heart eyes from a mile away.

Not making any plans for Christmas’ Eve, then. I’m booked now.

Are we celebrating at your place?

[Steve got into the passenger seat, looking over at her with a mixture of seriousness and amusement] You were born in this time. You pick the day. 

I didn’t realize that factored into this decision. [She grinned.] Um....let’s do Christmas Eve. [She pulls out of the parking structure and starts speeding down the road.]

Does that mean the 26th is your preference? 

Who’s driving today?

I’m all Christmas all the time. Doesn’t make a difference to me. [She gets into the driver’s seat.] I got it.

Well… now you’ve got me intrigued. 

I guess you’ll just have to wait until the 26th...or the 25th, whatever your preference is. [She presses the unlock button on her keys and her car beeps alive.]

You didn’t have to get me anything, Shar. 

If it helps, I didn’t pay anything for it.

[They walked into the garage, where all of the cars were. Steve stopped and took this moment to grab Sharon’s cheek and lean down and kiss her briefly] I know. And you don’t know how much that means to me.

I think I can guess. [She wraps her arm around his waist as they walk to the car.] 

Just know that I trust you. Okay? I’m sure it’ll go okay. 

I know. I trust you too. Both of you.
