Sex Pollen AU || thirdbirdthenerd
Damian himself was also quick to cover his nose and mouth, not wanting to inhale anything containing both the words sex and pollen in its name. He narrowed his eyes at the younger teen at his words though, but did not do much aside from it because even he knew that it was indeed careless of him. Still, he felt it wasnât right to open his mouth just yet. He knew he had already taken in a bit of the pollen, no need to add more to it. But honestly, he didnât really feel any different.
Or at least, not yet.
Tim crooked two fingers, slinking off down an empty street, leaving the scene of crushed glass and broken mutant plants behind for GPD to process. He didn't envy Jim Gordon, but then, the Commissioner wasn't the only one who'd have to write up a report tonight. Tim groaned internally; the mission was a failure and Tim abhored being anything less than efficient. Fortunately, Red Robin could very fairly place blame on Damian's butter fingers.
Tim wiped his mouth with the back of his gauntlet, pausing on the rooftop, shoulders tensed. In the dim light of a half moon, Tim could see the faint sheen of something on the black leather. He'd make note of it in his report.
"There's a safe house nearby. We'll fix this."
âI didnât know he had anytâinâ sharp until I pissed him off.â
âWould itâve mattered?â With your attitude?
âWhatâs tâat supposed ta mean?â
Tim shrugs. âYouâre just flippant. I didnât think itâdâve mattered.â
Jason makes a face. âIâm not flippant.â
Unimpressed stare.

âNope. Pissed someone off and tâey had sometâin sharp.â Jason pulls the collar of his shirt to the side, exposing the white bandages on his left shoulder.
"And yet I doubt you'll stop pestering people with sharp things."

If there was one thing that Damian loathed more than anything at the moment, it was having nothing to do. He had always hated just sitting around the manor and being unproductive, especially when he knew he could be doing something else. And today stood out particularly because he had nothing to since the time that he woke up, and that was around seven thirty. That was why when he was presented with a mission, despite having to be teammates with one Tim Drake, he was quick to accept.
The objective was easy. Bring Poison Ivy down, collect a sample of her new, modified antitoxin and get back to the Bat Cave. No more, no less. Dealing with Ivy was no problem either, she presented herself as a challenge, but there was two of them and one of her. In less than ten, both Boy Wonders had already taken her down, began collecting the canister of her, as villainess termed it, sex pollen and soon after readied to bolt.
Oh if only things wouldâve gone smoothly from there on out, and the canister didnât break when it did. Ivyâs struggle to escape caught them both off guard, causing the elder to drop the fragile canister to break at their feet, enough to distract the both of them for Ivy to escape.
Tim's reaction was instantaneous. He lifted his cape to cover his mouth and nose, trying to hold his breath for as long as possible. He could actually see a sinister twinkle in the air before it winked out. He assumed Ivy was working on a more discreet method of poisoning her victims than her usual sickly yellow, thick pollen. Moving to something more aerosol based. Tim'd congratulate her, if they weren't playing on opposite teams.
His mood was soured immediately from the flush of victory. That was careless. "You could've handled that better," Tim said, as though he was making a droll comment about the weather, and although his mouth was covered, his eyes held all the icy disapproval his tight mouth conveyed.

"Hey, uhm, I think the door's jammed. Could you- could you press the release switch? I don't like it in here."
The world became ash | post-apocalyptic au
He blinked, his anger cooling like heated metal dunked in ice water. Tim rubbed his arm self consciously, kneading the tight muscle with his thumb. His eyes met Jasonâs. It was disconcerting to see his tiredness echoed in his older brotherâs expression. Jason, whether as Robin or Red Hood, always seemed incredibly cocky, or failing that, unyielding and stubborn.
Tim assumed the Rapture had drained away Jasonâs maddening arrogance. Which he found oddly disheartening. But the elation of finding his brother in arms still outweighed the bitter taste settling on the back of his tongue.
âDeeper down,â Tim replied finally. He had debated telling Jason. Not only was Timâs considerably diminished pride as a capable mechanic at stake, but the generators werenât exactly accessible. âItâs not as stable down there as it is up here.â He brushed a sweaty strand of hair away from his neck, barking a humorless laugh. âBut the universe wouldnât want to make it too easy.â
Standing there in the dilapidated remains of the Cave, Jason was quickly beginning to notice just how humid everything was without the temperature being regulated by Bruceâs sophisticated system. In the silence that lingered between them, Jason shrugged off his well-worn leather jacket and pulled his ratty t-shirt over his head along with it. He really could use a shower, and the dirt on his skin only enforced that thought.
Finally, Tim did speak and Jason offered a look of concern. âHow far down?â he questioned, happy that the situation had deflated. âAnd how unstable?â It wasnât like Jason had never risked his safety before, and this was for something useful. Already, he was starting to think of ways to fix things because maybe if they could get power, he and Tim could find the others faster.
Tim briefly wished he hadn't removed his cowl. It was much easier to stare from behind the flat white of his lenses. While Tim's photography hobby had died with his ascension to the Robin mantle, he could still remember his quickfire glee as he memorized every hard line, every graceful curve captured. Those pictures of Batman, Nightwing, and Robin were still squirreled away in one of Tim's safe houses, smeared with grime and ash. A remnant of that feeling clenched around his heart, as Jason peeled off his shirt, reveal whitened scars and hard muscle. It was probably loss, topped off with exhaustion.
"Far enough to make me hesitate to tell you," Tim answered honestly. After just getting his brother back, human contact, Tim wasn't anxious to so easily risk letting his brother plunge into the belly of the Batcave. He knew the mantra "the bigger the risk, the better the payoff" and it's many reiterations, but having Jason return to him felt like enough of a reward. He didn't need a generator. Not at that price it could cost.
