Hitting a little too close to home there.

Something about staying up past midnight forces you to take a good look at your life and puts so much into perspective. There’s so little going on that maybe that’s why we notice so much about ourselves now than during the day, when there’s so many distractions. The stillness of the external forces us to look internally, as our mind so often seeks some kind of distraction.

I’ve learned a few things about myself. So often my emotions are pointed inwards. I seek external validation because I don’t value my own opinion as highly as I do that of others. It’s difficult to voice things like anger, discomfort, because subconsciously I always believe that person doesn’t deserve it. Their point of view is right and I’m wrong for crossing them. I admit now, that trait has made me a push over. I can see where I’ve been taken advantage off, taken for granted, whether intentionally or unknowingly, I don’t know. But everyone eventually snaps.
