Humans are like "let me hold the thing. Let me pick it up. It's cute and I want to hold it, I want to wrap my weird elongated front feet around it, I want to encircle it with my freakishly long, oddly flexible front toes. I HAVE to hold things I HAVE to or I'll die."
I know normal people can just pass their bill over and around an object and know most things worth knowing about it, but humans don't have electroreceptors At All. They only have mechanoreceptors. Which are most concentrated in the aforementioned 'hands'... and in their mouths.
They do also have eyes, and their vision is actually pretty acute. But their optic and mechanic sensory inputs aren't integrated together like electro-mechanic sense is. So they have these two fairly sophisticated sensory complexes that Barely talk to each other.
No wonder they try to bring the two inputs together in their environment then; picking things up and turning them around allows them to apply both their mechanical and optical senses to the object. They're just trying to make up for a deficiency of neural organisation.
And like. I mentioned the other concentration of mechanoreceptors is in their mouth... So just be glad they mostly grow out of constantly wrapping their viscera-looking tongue around everything.

I've now seen two different deltarune theory videos that describe gaster's theme as having an interval of seven semitones and then pointing out other music that uses that same interval to assess how likely it is that it's a deliberate reference to gaster's theme but without at any point clarifying that an interval of seven semitones is more commonly known as a "perfect fifth" and is actually the second most universal interval in all of music after the octave and it's actually harder to find music that doesn't contain any perfect fifths than music that does
it's such an irresponsible writing decision you know. perfect fifths are one of the first things you learn about if you study music theory for any amount of time. referring to it by the width of the interval in half steps instead of by its more common name makes it sound more mysterious and special than it actually is. it's leading an audience who doesn't know anything about music theory except a vague understanding of the word "leitmotif" to think "yeah, why would both of these tracks have a melody with two consecutive notes separated by exactly seven semitones if one isn't meant to be a reference to the other?" even though that question has a really obvious answer that anyone who knows anything about music theory should be able to explain
calling perfect fifths a motif is like calling "uses words with the letter 'e' in them" a typing quirk

imagine you had a friend who constantly made jokes at the expense of something you loved. they're never funny, but they seem to expect you to laugh even though the punchline is just, "this thing you love sucks ass". it's not even really a joke, there's nothing funny about it, you can tell that they genuinely actually believe it. but they insist it's just a joke!
no matter what the situation is, they're always bringing the social interaction to a screeching halt with these jokes. nobody ever wants to participate in this joke with them. nobody agrees with the premise. nobody ever knows what to say afterwards, it's just an awkward moment and a subject change. but they just keep doing it.
you have to stop with the self-deprecatory "humor", it's not fun for anyone including you.

we learn to put ourselves down like this as a reaction to someone with power over us (parent, peer with social capital, etc) routinely punishing us for some way we are "wrong", often in confusing and contradictory ways, and forcing us to placate them afterwards.
when the person dictating the rules is irrational, the only thing we can rely on is that we've done something wrong, and so all we can really do to try to avoid being punished is demonstrate our willingness to be wrong. often, this isn't enough, and we respond by demonstrating it harder because it's all we know how to do.
the people who did it to you had some version of it done to them, that's why they treated you like that. if you're willing to treat yourself like this, you risk treating other people like that, even if only in your worst moments.
nobody should be treated like that, even if it's you and at your own hand entirely inside your own mind.
I know it's not your fault, you didn't ask to be this way, but you have to be better than them. I'm not mad at you for apologizing, it's not like it makes you a bad person. you'll learn how to do it less with time and care, you have good reasons for finding it hard to trust that people won't hurt you.
I'm not asking you to succeed immediately, just asking you to try. practice, make mistakes, get better over time. it'll be okay.
