I got this recommended to me, it's pretty much just and overview trailer with an extended version of Shiver's song from the direct, but it's got me wondering.....

If that shit happened to me when I was 17, I also probably would have been mentally fucked up enough to go to the people I had been told my whole life were the enemy, especially if they said they loved me as much if not MORE than my legally better sibling.

And the fact she constantly goes BACK to Octavio and the hypno shades proves that even though Marie is doing her damnest to show Callie how loved she is, the rest of the inkling world still considers her the lesser Sister and it still bothers her enough to run away to people who say they love her more when they're really just using her for their gain.

Honestly, I don't think Splatfests are legally binding in 3. Not because of Callie, unfortunately, but because Deep Cut don't seem to take it as legal in the end. The Squid Sisters and Off The Hook still trash talked during the results, whereas Deep Cut seems to "see the other side" during their results. Like Frye apologizing to Big Man for basically rejecting his gift and then immediately started planning with Shiver to get him a matching gift so they could all go out and match. Or the results of Grand Fest where they literally saw why Big Man was right in trying to unite Splatsville and Inkopolis.

I feel like it literally being a popularity contest is far better than it being legally binding. It's why Frye and Big Man didn't become depressed when Shiver was decided to be the leader from the leader fest. They know they are still as loved and appreciated by everyone as Shiver is, her team just won the turf battles.

Its also why I feel Team Past winning the Grand Fest is very fitting and probably healing to Callie. Even in the DLC plazas, Callie and Marie represented different teams, even if they were constantly switching colors. Even if they were no longer in charge of Fests, they couldn't represent the same team during their performances.

But in Grand Fest, the Squid Sisters were finally on the same team. And they won.

Together.

No one truly better than the other.

How healing that must have been to her inner child, still upset at being the lesser.

But, like, this game cannot stay connected to the Internet for more than thirty minutes at a time. I had so many disconnects in the beginning of games, saw multiple names in the lobby that never seemed to be able to play a single game (poor Kevin), and would just have games break catastrophically where everyone disconnects in the final minute.

Granted, I play handheld almost all the time, so I'm not docked and further connected to the Internet. But I disconnected like 5 times compared to the like 10 other disconnects from other people.

ALSO! Apparently drinks and food tickets COUNT DISCONNECTS AS A FULL GAME!?! Maybe I'm spoiled by Splatoon 3 just disconnecting you after another DC and letting you keep that use of the ticket.

And finally.....

WHY THE FUCK DOES MR GRIZZ SEND YOU OUT BY YOURSELF IF YOU CAN'T FIND OTHER PLAYERS? YOU CAN'T JUST CLOSE THE ROOM LIKE IN TURF? AND SOLO GAMES ARE ALMOST ALWAYS WHEN THE BULLSHIT STARTS SPAWNING. WHAT YOU YOU MEAN I HAVE TO DEAL WITH FIVE MAWS AND THREE STEELHEADS TRYING TO KILL ME WHILE MY ANKLES GET NOMMED BY SMALLFRY?

Callie - Hurtful stims - picking at the low tide scar on her eye, popping her prosthetic eye in and out and wearing it out or giving her an infection, scratching at her Octarian tattoo until it bleeds, chewing all the way through her tentacles and needing them trimmed professionally or needing hair extensions before a performance

Marie - Helpful stims - pen tapping, finger drumming, toe tapping, button clicking, switch flipping, joystick turning (literally just give her a fidget cube and she's happy), twirling her parasol, petting her tentacles when they're down

Marie - Hurtful stims - lip biting to the point of bleeding/stitches, pulling the trigger on a toy charger to the point of hand cramps and literal trigger finger, clawing her tentacles to shreds or clawing into her scalp to the point of bleeding

Pearl - Helpful stims - beat boxing noises, flicking zipper pulls (there's a reason the OTH stylist made their zippers so big), cracking her knuckles, bouncing around like Callie, kicking her feet while sitting, squeezing Marina's hand in a rhythm, biting Marina's tentacles (jaw strength is not enough to bite through)

Pearl - Hurtful stims - banging her head against walls to point of injury, biting her thumb until bleeding, punching walls until her knuckles bleed, screaming until hoarse or hurting herself

Marina - Helpful stims - Humming, keyboard typing, chewing pens (Pearl buys cheap ones in bulk), finger tapping, clicking her tongue, petting plushies (has multiple with different textures and fabrics), playing with silky tags in clothing (usually rubbing them against her fingers or together if there's more than one), playing with slime (floam and crunchy beads are her favorite textures but she will play with any kind) tinkering (using wrenches or screwdrivers, etc), squeezing Pearl's hand in a rhythm

Marina - Harmful stims - Biting her tentacles (does have the jaw strength to break through and hurt them, let's Pearl bite instead so they can both stim), biting claws until bleeding, scratching her thighs or shoulders until bleeding, tying her tentacles into knots and hurting the nerves inside, clawing at ears until bleeding (hence her always wearing headphones), running her fingers against sharp metal and cutting herself (has to wear protective gloves while tinkering to avoid this) biting her lip until bloody and needing stitches (Marie and Marina watch each other when they hang out and pull their lips away from their beaks when they notice each other gnawing)

Shiver - Helpful stims - playing with her fan (has multiple on standby considering how often she breaks them doing this), drumming her fingers, humming, feeling silky fabric, playing shamisen (the picking on the strings specifically), cricketing (rubbing ankles together) clicking her tongue, singing (lets her let out long notes without screaming and bugging people), playing with makeup brushes against her skin

Shiver - Hurtful stims - screaming, shrieking, scratching her tentacles (there's a reason they look choppy), biting her fan (she gets splinters in her mouth), scratching at her eyes or face, biting her tongue (doesn't do this anymore, Frye and Big Man would smack her gently on the back of the head once they realized what she was doing)

Frye - Helpful stims - dancing, stomping around, rocking, flapping her hands, running, spinning, holding her feet and rocking, singing, humming, beat boxing, bouncing her knee, toe tapping, finger tapping/drumming, gnawing on chewlery

Frye - Hurtful stims - gnawing on herself or her tentacles to point of injury, stomping hard enough to hurt her feet or actually splat herself, grinding her beak, chewing her tongue (Shiver and Big Man gently smack her when they see her doing it), scratching at her tentacles

Big Man - Helpful stims - wiggling, dancing, humming, singing, smacking his tail on the ground
