CALLING ALL TRANS (and LGBT+) ARTISTS /WRITERS/CREATORS

Are you interested in celebrating, discussing, and expanding the understanding of gender and gender identity? Are you an artist/writer/poet/lyricist/etc? Have you always wanted to contribute to an art zine?

SAM is a zine dedicated to the discussion and celebration of gender and identity as well as creativity. Through a magazine medium, SAM hopes to help transform the way gender is seen in the world today and help express thoughts and feelings.

SAM is looking for any art that can be put into magazine format!

Express what you were hoping to submit, whether it be poetry, a short story, photography, digital or fine art, etc

Include your contact information, a link to your blog, examples of your art (link to art blog is acceptable)

Include the name you wish to be credited with

Submissions will be accepted until November 30th, 2015

Please make sure your work is CMYK, 300 DPi, and at Standard Letter Size (8.5x11")

Please no sexually explicit content/nudity, including that related to transitioning (use your judgement regarding “explicit”)

Postmortem Mag, a relatively-new quarterly digital zine that shares reflective pieces about the creative process, is currently accepting submissions for its fourth issue. For this issue the editor wants submissions pertaining to anything you’ve fulfilled within the past year or what you intend to accomplish in the approaching year. 

Postmortem Mag, in general, offers a podium for storytellers to reflect on their former works, determine how that experience defined or redefined them

Book review blog Book Smugglers (est. 2008) has issued an open call for submissions to find the best original speculative fiction short stories based on the theme of “Superheroes.” Founders and publishers Thea James and Ana Grilo plan to publish a minimum of three stories, connected to the main theme, between June and August 2016. Original artwork by a commissioned illustrator will supplement each story. 

The editors encourage diverse writers to submit, especially works from marginalized writers with traditionally underrepresented ideas.
