I made the mistake of catching feelings for someone I barely even know. I thought he felt the same way about me too. At first, I thought I was crazy or just overthinking as usual. But something about it felt…different. He made me feel safe, and seen, and so beautiful. I would sometimes notice him admiring me from afar. It would give me butterflies. The same butterflies that would render me speechless whenever we were close. It was hard to hide the fact that I can be shy and sometimes awkward. I didn’t expect to fall in love but it happened and now I’m hurt. I don’t know what to do with the pain, the embarrassment, the jealousy, the tears. I genuinely wanted you and I thought you wanted me too.
