The kisses from his leather are painful, but I know the love that comes with each lash.  It wasn't supposed to be like this, we had promised each other as we laughed. Just a bit of rough play, a little time for each other when life said ok. We each had our own toys with whom we played….they made us feel ok...we left after that first day... to go on about our separate ways….not a struggle...not a problem...goodbye...yes... definitely again...and as before, we continued to live our lives on our own terms...work...talk….texts...the more we learned….about what made each of us tick...there was a twinge...a small little prick...a needle finding its way in a haystack made of bricks…our walls were sealed and thick...

But Karma...she has her own plan…and the path to love is rarely seen written plainly in the sand...what started out as just fun and games...became something different with each passing day….trust grew as trysts were planned and love began to replace simple lust in Karma's hands...there was a moment when it became clear enough to identify...my brain hiccupped as I looked into his deep brown eyes...I was too scared to admit it...at the time...and he had his reasons that he'd never be mine...it crushed my heart to leave him behind... this time there were tears after saying our goodbyes...and I cursed myself as I drove away...not saying the words that could have been said that day...

My mind raced as my heart ached...My arms once again empty...my body left with only the marks that he had made...and the imprints from biting my tongue...I had refused to say what we both knew in the air had hung...locks on boxes...buried 6 feet under and guarded by demons and dragons... had somehow been sprung...it seemed to me at the time as though fate was just not on my side...for me...love has never been kind...and so I swore it would never be allowed again...but...I had seen through to his soul and I knew then that I had found my demon king in this man...and from that there is no going back…

Yet...as we continued to explore what had become so much more...I had to accept the fact that he could not...should not...love me like that...my pillow swallowed the tears at night...trying to win the little battles inside my head that would fight...my heart breaking and my shoulders shaking...craving just for a simple touch of his hand...the look in his eye as he gave each command...the heat of my skin when he touched me within…I craved him far more than just as a friend...and I knew then that I would spend the rest of my days loving only him...and perhaps fate would be kind and he would love me too…

And as the universe tends to do...the day arrived...when he looked me in the eye...held me close and told me...baby girl, don't cry...yes, my girl, I love you...you are mine.

How do two souls that have experienced true hell find each other in such a way that love becomes the water that quenches the heart's desire and  fireworks cannot begin to compare to the explosions left hanging in the universal air…

From my heart to yours, Daddy. I adore you.
