If you want to read The Poppy War, prepare for your soul to be ripped apart and never put back together.

It’s war, it’s death, it’s trauma, it’s genocide, it’s devastation on all fronts with some elements of fantasy/magic. There’s no “romance”, no “dark academia”, it’s a military school for barely half of the first volume and a girl MC who is part of a harsh (that’s too mild a word) world. Everything is just raw and emotional and you’ll want to throw the books in the darkest pits of hell.

My brother has been the most positive influence on my life!

Were it not for my brother I would not be the Cristaly/shrekfucker/bowserfucker/Nintendette you know today at all!

He introduced me to video games and anime, like many older siblings have. His laughter is contagious. And so is his sense of humor! I got my love for comedy, pranks and being mischievous from him.

He taught me how to have fun, which I needed as an uptight elementary school student. My fondest childhood memories are the summers we spent together playing pretend about Inuyasha and super smash brothers.

He is also very brave and resilient! He set off on his own super young and funded his own transition. Seeing him work so hard to be independent definitely influenced me positively. And having an older queer trans sibling helped give me the courage to explore my sexuality and meet my wife!

I can text him about anything and he was a huge support for my wife during her transition.

He means a lot to me and to so many other people.
