Yeah ok.

when i first started transitioning i obviously knew fucking nothing about the discourse surrounding transmisogyny and transandrophobia. i started to learn when i decided to remake my blog (approx. 6 months ago ish). i started typing up my thoughts about it.

i wanted to fence sit the issue until i understood it better; people kept saying a lot of things i didn't disagree with, and i my heart went out to everyone who seemed to be having a rough time of it.

specifically, i found it unacceptable to try and give trans masculine people a hard time about maybe overstepping into misogyny because i found that we, as trans people, had bigger fish to fry. trans women are being killed, i thought, how could that hold a candle to the ftm community being labeled as "for all trans people on tumblr" or whatever, even if it bothered the hell out of me

i still believe that, at least a little. trans people of all descriptions go through very similar experiences that i did and i wouldn't wish those hardships on my worst enemy, and even if someone is being an ass to me specifically, i have to keep that in mind.

but then i started talking to people.

and it became clear that peoples whose points of view i was actively trying to consider viewed me much more negatively than i did them. the transandro crowd has, as of writing, literally not once tried to have a discussion with me that wasn't filled with pejoratives and invectives and misgendering and degendering and just such exhausting garbage.

the transfeminist people that i was also disagreeing with at the time, however, to contrast, have been some of the most supportive and accepting people i've ever been on the internet with.

i don't mean to make this a point about who is right and who is wrong. obviously it isn't important whether or not you're nice to me in order to be correct. but i think it displays a pattern.

when faced with a recently out trans person who doesn't know what is true, people who advance the narrative of transandrophobia chose to accuse me of hysteria and question my gender identity.

all i ask you to consider is the following: if you would treat me that way when i was trying my hardest to give transandrophobia a fair shot, without any knowledge of talking points, or buzzwords, or basic knowledge of what half of these words even meant (how many times did i post to this blog "oh god i don't know what that means"), how would you treat a person who confidently disagrees with you?

Ok so let’s observe which group is the one going around trying to silence people and harassing them off the internet. Is it transfems expressing the ways they are more vulnerable than others in the queer community or transmascs throwing fits bc they realized they aren’t the most oppressed people on earth and want it to be transfems’ fault somehow?
