The Voice of Dog is seeking Ghost, Horror, or Otherwise Spooky stories for our Halloween Theme Month, the Ghost of Dog.

Stories may be scary and unsettling, campy and gothic, or outright silly. Adult stories are accepted. Usual minimum standards for Voice of Dog submissions apply - No Bigotry, No AI - but for this month we consider the "End Looking Up" rule to be less important.

Anything you could tell with a flashlight under your chin.

We will be accepting AT MOST thirteen (13) episodes this year - ie. 13 one-part stories, 6 two part stories, or some combination thereof - and submissions will be open until September 1st 2026 or until all slots are full.

Today’s story is the second and final part of “Victor Tremblay in: The Three Lakes Incident” by Pascal Farful, who has been featured in three anthologies by the Furry Historical Fiction Society, and you can find more of his stories on his SoFurry page.

Last time, private detective Victor Tremblay was seduced by an eccentric male stripper under the pseudonym of Vulf. The following day’s revelation of a partial smear to out known homosexuals in Washington State, leads Victor to believe he may have been framed. He’s tipped off to a fascist rally organized by one Paul Orndorff of The Carnivore Brotherhood, whom Victor believes may have been behind the hit piece. Getting out of the line of fire as the protest threatens to boil over, Victor discovers that Vulf and two associates, a hairy beagle man in purple lingerie and a vixen with a sniper rifle named Valerie, oversee the rally from a high elevation. Vulf successfully talks the hotheaded Valerie out of assassinating Orndorff and the group depart, after the beagle acknowledges Victor spying on them, but makes no move to stop him, and the detective overhears Vulf speaking to the group’s true leader by phone. Victor is left with one thread to pull on, the license plate number on Orndorff’s pickup truck that Valerie called out as the group departed the rally.
