“It’s so sad to see people’s dreams destroyed; tragic, really. Excuse  me — my bibs are gold-trimmed and wouldn’t be caught in the same room with the likes of you. Please. Get your own bib.” 

“Impossible dreams deserve to be dashed. It sounds as if you’re trying to negotiate the terms of my forgiveness of you. That’s not very apple pie of you. I could give you a baby bib.”

“We haven’t really gotten very far into the series, have we? I thought we were on season two.” Tony glanced over when he felt his daughter’s head shift against his shoulder and smiled softly when he saw that she’d fallen asleep. It was a rare occurrence; and by rare he meant it had happened maybe once before. He froze but tried to keep his position as relaxed as he could. He wasn’t going to wake her up.

“You’re not cute. Also no, absolutely not. The only way you’ll be forgiven is if you eat it with one of those All-American smiles from the old film reels.”

Tony stepped out of the elevator, squinting into the dimly lit living room. He padded over to the couch on silent feet and reached out to pull the edge of the blanket up over her shoulder, smiling softly. He’d thought that he would have to come in with some over-used line like ‘which of us is the parent’, but here Ally was asleep instead of waiting up for him.

“It’s called reading between the lines. Have you never heard the saying ‘great and terrible’? I’m hurt by that. If you get here and eat this omelette, I’ll forgive you.”

“Math seems to have changed some since you were in school. ‘Not every time’ doesn’t mean ‘nine out of ten’. It means I’m an incredible cook whose fire detection system is against him.”

[text]: Right. You’re insufferable and I’m a saint. [text]: I’ll just use one of your beloved rocks to carve my argument into your bedroom wall. [text]: You expect too much of the public. [text]: You don’t have circuit-boards. Or do you really believe that Phil had you cloned? Perhaps that’s where I had the chance to give you a robot brain. [text]: Can it, Walt. [text]: I don’t think that’s true. [text]: How am I supposed to get enough bumper stickers? I hardly have the time to mail in that many membership applications under false names. [text]: Ah, I almost missed that stubbornness.  [text]: Depends. I don’t think you really deserve it.
