{He'd never been camping before but the idea wasn't foreign, he'd had old co-workers tell stories about family camping trips, the bugs sounded like a negative but fireflys were supposed to be fun to catch, pretty, romantic even, he loved to paint them, and the idea of being close and cuddled up in a tent with his daughter and boyfriend made him happy}.

" papi.. I'm scared..?!- " she whimpered hoping her sibling is going to like her.

He smiled despite his own slight nerves and kissed her on the head, rubbing her back.

Val got distracted and almost tripped a bit in his heels on the gravel but steadied himself quickly with the help of his daughter's centered body weight.

He laughed at the situation from the scare and the nerves bunching with excitement from the small trip and what was to come with adopting a second child, for the first time with Vincent.

The family walked through the house opening the back patio door. Val and Christy were lucky buying this homemade it was a cozy neighborhood with a fenced in front and back yard.

"Such a good boy, Shockwave, my big baby, such a good big brover to Zennie," {he cooed and kissed the dog in the head and ruffled his fur}.

{He hugged Zen, excited, and got a chill down his back from tense muscles, so he wrapped the blanket around the four of them}.

" No. No. I bought a 6 person tent so they'll be enough room for all of us~ "

A half an hour passed by as zen was playing with Shockwave as Vincent got the tent all set up.

" oooh..? Dada it's so cool~ " zen threw the squeeky toy as the pup barks running after it.

The toddler snickered running inside the finished tent.

{He admired the tent and watched Zen play with Shockwave with a smile}.

They made a small camp fire in the outdoor fire pit that him and Christy bought years ago.

The little one sat within the doorway of the tent watching her parents make the fire and lit it.

They got the supplies for smores and normal food of course. You can't just start eating desert for supper.

"We're outside, baby, go eat something growing," {he said}.

"Come on, I'll go teach you about what plants are edible and which aren't."

"I used to eat the clover shaped ones with my sister after school, so we didn't have to buy snacks with the other kids we didn't like." {he recalled fondly with a bit of a chuckle}.

"The trick is to look for the plants that look like clovers, but instead of round leaves, they have heart shaped leaves,"

"Those are my favorite, called wood sorrel, if I remember correctly,"

"It's supposed to taste like lemons,"

Zen huffles while she reached her arms up as he scooped her up.

The tot rests against val's chest as she was content. But still grumpy from hunger. Looking at the different plants was fun. The toddler giggles while gently touching the grass.

" does it really taste yummy like lemons? " zenna asked curiously.

"Oi, you little carnivore!"

{He grinned and held her close as he looked for a small cluster of the lemony tasting plant from his childhood, he found some by the fence and squatted down to pick some of the edible leaves off}.

Zen lays upon the grass looking up at the stars she gnawed upon her thumb selfsoothing herself..

He had little bite marks.

He knew she was upset from having to share her parents love.

" I'd love for you to talk to her. Please. She'll.. listen to ya..- I'm sorry.. val.Val.. I didn't wanna upset you..? - don't yell at her.. -- She - she's probably still going through grieving her Mum..-- I'll get.. the desert ready.. you go.. talk to her..-- "

Vincent got the paper plates readying the portions as he hums a tune to himself..

"Yeah.. okay,"

{He walked over and sat down next to Zen on the grass}.

"Can I lay next to you?"

Vincent nodded while he was preparing the sweets for they're family.

Zen looked over as she was fixated out of her pondering.

The toddler blinks a few times with a nod she reached her arms put to be cuddled by val. Awwh.. she was such a sweet baby girl..

"Vincent says that you've been anxious about the possibility of having a new sister,"

"Do you want to talk about it?"

The little one cuddled him as she lays down upon his chest. Zen was very anxious about becoming a sister..

" Mhmm.. I'm scared you an papi don't love me anymore..?! " the five year old felt him rub her back it helped her calm down immediately.

"you're the best niña I could have ever asked for,"

"and helping to raise another little girl less fortunate than you and me doesn't mean that you won't still be my first, and Infinitly precious little girl"

"it just means that there will be more love that we all share, none gets taken away, just added"

The little one listened to her father speak. It was pure honesty as she cuddles him to then looking up at the stars.

There were tons of them. So like the stars her papi has so much love to give to her so she wouldn't be alone or feel it..

" I understand.. papi.."

She looked over at val while she gently caressed his face. Zen smiles sweetly.

" You're the best papi ever~ " she cooed.

A little while after Vincent got the smores ready as they all enjoyed eating the sweet treat. Zen was even lucky to try them.

" I missed having these.. I should just cook em in the microwave.. " Vince giggled.

Zen was sat between her parents as they ate. The tot was done eating as she lays down upon the grass.

" I'll neeeeeever go to sleep~ never~ " she giggles..

Zen giggles as she rolls over laying upon her tummy. She blinks a few times as she was starting to feel a bit sleepy.. maybe.. no she felt something else. It was energy..

The five year old growls s bit to then roll over onto her back she looked up at val with a playful smirk.

Zen giggles as she raised her leg pushing her foot against his chin.

" Ackiiiiheehee~ " she giggles ooooooh there's the sugar rush..

" Get her val~ " he chuckled as the five year old giggles trying to get free. Oh no..

" Nuuhuuuuu~?! Your not tickle monsters caaause there's no bed you crawled out from..-!? You caaant kiyaaaahaha~?! "

Zen laughs with a playful squee as her father and papi tickled her.

The five year old giggles with a sweet smile as Vince smiled playfully letting go of her arms just in case she would get overwhelmed.

Zen squees gently patting valentino's hands away from her sides.

" Ackiiheehee?! Nouhuuuu. "

Vincent chuckled playfully as he got up and set the blankets and pillows within the tent.

Her laughter was contagious.

"what's that? You want me to tickle your belly? And blow a raspberry on it?" He teased.

"well.. if that's what you want"

she laugh talks trying to squirm away from her papi. Vincent laughed along with zen's plea. Oooh how cuuuute.

" Get her~! "

he cooed pressing a big playful kiss upon her chubby cheek. To then get up and get the blankets and pillows ready for when everyone decides to ho to bed..

Zen snickered shaking her head no. Oooh it was all in good fun..

" noouhuuuuu my beellyheeehee?! It's not food staaaaapiitaahaa-?! "

she squees happily gently holding her papa's chin gently pushing him away from leaning down to attack her tummy..

" Nooaahaha?! - I'm not a marshmallow?!! " she squees one last plea to val.

For Father's Day she had gotten up early and made breakfast with Ash's help, which consisted of blueberry muffins, omelettes, and orange juice.

"Oh, baby, this is beautiful, when did you have time to do all this?" He smiled, starry eyed and happy as warmth spread through his chest. He loved the feeling. Affection. Appreciation. Love.
