He hadn’t slept. He hadn’t slept because he could not sleep. It was a comfort that Anthony was back, yes, but that did not make rest any easier. The once-god walked a very thin line, teetering ever on the brink of a deeper pit in which he did not wish to fall. He had hoped that perhaps, perhaps his mind would one day find peace, some comforting balance of his own memories and those that he had taken. It was difficult at times, yes, but he was slowly shifting them away into the back of his mind.
After all, he would never inhabit that small space in his brain again. At least, not for very long.
At least he had hoped. At least he had thought.
