Yep! Everything’s ready (or nearly so) for the big day. 

In the end, Kacchan and I did need a bit of help with all of the planning— our publicist, friends, and family all pitched in to lend a hand or two, and we did consult a little with a planner, too! She was the one that had the connection to book our vendor. 

The wedding isn’t really rooted in tradition— or not in Japanese tradition, in any case; I’m not sure if anyone could top Creati-san’s and Celsius’s wedding, in that regard! 

We’ve reserved the locations for our reception and ceremony, and they’re close enough that everyone will be able to walk the distance between them! Iida-kun is going to be officiating the wedding, and we both decided on our individual wedding parties a few months ago. Everyone’s attire is ready, or nearly so— the alterations for Ochako’s dress are scheduled to come in by next week, and my new suit’s finished, too. My ring…

I know it’s a little foolish, but if I’m being honest with you all, I haven’t quite given up on returning my body to the way it was before. I’ve decided against altering my ring. Obviously, it’s not going to fit on my hand during the ceremony, but I’ve decided to wear it on a chain around my neck, instead. 

Kacchan says that he’s going to do the same. 

We’ve worked with Shemage’s sister to pick the floral arrangements. After asking Creati-san and Celsuis, and consulting with her therapist, we asked Haki-chan to help us with that decision! We want her to show her the good side of flowers, and invite her to take part in our celebration together. Not so coincidentally, Haki-chan has also agreed to be our flower girl!

We’ve hired two photographers, and my mom has told me that she’s going to take lots of pictures, too! The owner of our favorite noodle bar (Kacchan and I have been going to his family-run restaurant since we were interning together!) has agreed to cater the event— and ply those of an appropriate age with alcohol. We’ve printed menu cards so that guests will know which options they’ll be able to choose from during the reception. 

We’ve reserved a block of rooms at a local hotel for those that are going to be coming from out of town— I’m thrilled to say that there are a few people that I’ve met during my time abroad that have RSVP’d for the event. Likewise, we’ve arranged transportation for a few of these guests during their stay here. I can’t wait to see them all again! 

We’ve finally agreed on how many people that we’re going to allow at the wedding, too! I wanted many more than Kacchan, but Kacchan finally agreed to let us invite a few of you guys, as well, which was— well, I hope it was made obvious by Kacchan’s announcement a few days ago! 

Those that have been invited to attend the ceremony and following reception should receive an invitation within a few days. I’m sorry it’s a bit late! The rest of our invitations have been sent out for some time, but if those who receive an invitation want to take part in the event, we’d be glad to have you! 

I have a, ah. Hour-to-hour timeline for the day of the event. 

Kacchan’s been a little stubborn about the music. I have no idea what he has planned, but I’m sure that it’s going to be amazing. Kacchan’s in charge of it, after all; it couldn’t be anything but. 

We’re checking back in with our wedding party, caterer, photographers, and venue hosts this week. We still need to assign seating, but our friends have been playing around with the tables for a while and they’ve assured us that they have it covered. 

It feels like I’ve written my vows a thousand times. I haven’t settled on the words that I want to say just yet, but I know that they’re going to come. 

In the end, Kacchan and I decided to take a best, ah… Person? For ourselves. 

I know it’s a bit more usual to have a best man, but I asked Uravity if she’d like to be my best woman, and I’m happy to say that she accepted! Likewise, Kacchan told Red Riot that he was going to be his best man a while ago. 

Haki-chan is our flower girl, and Hikaru-chan is our ring bearer. 

I keep Deku from shoving his head too far up our wedding’s ass. 

Gets too bogged down in little details sometimes. Gotta remember to pull back and look at the big picture. 

I’ve written mine a few times, but I haven’t quite settled on the words that I want to say on the big day. 

Only a month left. 

I just caught up with the blog and I’m so happy for you two. I’m sure you’re going to look amazing on the big day! 

Deku I hope your recovering is coming along well with Yuuki-kun! I can’t wait to see you two back in action. I’m going to be registering for the Civilian Quirk Use Licensing Course, as a business owner I think it would be helpful to have one in case of emergencies. Maybe I’ll see you at the training.

Hey guys.

I just wanted to update everyone. Or anyone who pays attention, I guess.

I won’t be at the hospital for a few days. I guess I’ve been working too much. My supervisor at the hospital has… suggested, I take some time for vacation.

I’ll still be getting updated on Midoriya=san’s case since that’s still active. But since all my others are closed I’ve been told to take a break otherwise.

So, I guess I have some free time on my hands?

Of course! 

Tanabata is also known as the Star Festival. According to legend, two lovers— Orihime and Hikoboshi, who respresent the stars Vega and Altair —are separated by the Milky Way. As long as the skies are clear, they’re allowed to meet during the seventh day of the seventh month. 

Orihime, seamstress, fashioned beautiful clothes by a heavenly river. Because she worked so hard, always working to create more beautiful clothes, she was afraid that she wouldn’t ever find love. 

Her father, a god who loved her dearly, couldn’t bear to see her lonely and arranged for her to meet Hikoboshi, who was a cow herder. He lived on the other side of the Milky Way. 

The two instantly fell in love and were married. 

But, because they were so wrapped up in each other, their love and devotion to each other caused them to stop performing their duties. Orihime stopped making her beautiful clothing, and Hikoboshi’s cows started to wander the heavens. Becoming angry, Orihime’s father forbade the lovers to see each other ever again. 

Orihime was devasted. She begged her father to allow them to be together. Orihime’s father loved his daughter very much, so he proclaimed that, if Orihime committed herself to her responsibilities as a weaver, the two lovers would be allowed to meet each other once a day every year again— that’s where the seventh day of the seventh month comes into play. 

There’s a catch, though. Once the special day came, Orihime and Hokiboshi found the river too difficult to cross, so Orihime sent magpies to make a bridge for her. If the weather is good, Orihime will be able to cross the river. If it rains, the lovers must wait another year to see each other again. 

Festivals celebrating this event are usually held between now and August; the festival that we’ll be attending in our hometown is actually held on the 7th itself. Many people dress in traditional clothing, and there’s all sorts of yummy street foods available to eat! There’s fireworks and festivities, and it’s a lot of fun! 

Just like I’m sure you’re all aware that his hero partner Ground Zero proposed last night, via Deku’s blog post.

It is true that the fungi has disappeared from Deku’s body and that the team who has been treating him here at Hosu Medical University Hospital believe he will make a full recovery.

I’m not really here to talk about that much further- everyone knows that I can’t comment on the case in detail.

Although- I think I can say that words will never be able to encompass how happy I am that he’s going to be okay. I can’t tell you how relieved I am that the Duo will stay just that- together, as they were always meant to be.

I grew up on stories of fairy tales and romantic concoctions about love conquering all obstacles and triumphing through impossible odds. I learned that they’re just that, stories made to make us believe in true love and hope for someone that will stand by us through eternity. We all keep hoping for that person who matches us entirely, our “soul mate”.

Real life isn’t a story though. It’s painful and complicated and hard. We’re lucky to gather friends and family around us to help us weather the storm, to make the moments enjoyable, to help heal bruised hearts as we learn that there isn’t always true love and happily ever after.

That’s what I thought, even though it hurt me to admit it.

I was wrong though.

I ran the tests on Deku, and there’s nothing there anymore. The scars and breaks may remain, but the vines and flowers are gone. Nothing medical was going to cure him. Nothing in the world, not my quirk or anyone else’s, was going to keep him alive. We only gave him borrowed time.

I know a few facts:

Midoriya Izuku was going to die any day, any moment. He’d run out of time.

Bakugou Katsuki is the reason he’s alive now. The love the two of them share is the reason Deku is alive and has a future again.

I don’t know of a love more true than that, in any story told through time.

Unfortunately, it looks as if Ground Zero and I will be a little busy during the day that we’d planned to spend with you all. 

After contacting the medical staff, Pro Heroes, and instructors that were slotted to supervise the activities, we’ve decided that it would be best to postpone this service until a later date. 

Anyone who’d been looking forward to the gathering has my upmost apologies— I’m really sorry about the cancellation, and I feel terrible about having to cancel on all of you, especially after seeing how excited some of you were. 

It looks pretty cool. You can see Guzma’s got a lot of bottles and shit, and he has some serious talent as an interior designer, and– wait…

I’ve received a lot of messages from people asking me about the case since it became clear that I am treating the Pro Hero Deku. I wanted to take a minute to clear up a few things.

It’s public knowledge that I was at the same coffee shop when he collapsed, and he has acknowledged that I am part of the team working to find a cure for the quirk that is currently attacking his body.

Yes, I am working with a team of highly skilled men and women to  finding a cure.

Yes, I did assist the surgical team soon after Deku was brought in to the hospital through usage of my quirk.

Yes, the plants reacted to aspects of my quirk.

Again, that is all public knowledge, chosen to be released  by the patient, Midoriya Izuku, via the blog he runs with his hero partner.

That’s all I am going to say about the case.

That’s all I can say about the case. What Deku chooses to tell his fans is his decision. Due to my oath as a medical professional and my personal ethics as an individual, I am not at liberty to disclose any further information or facts.

However, there are a few things I can say that don’t deal with sensitive information.

We are working to cure him. No, I haven’t given up on finding that cure. I am not going to be giving up. I wish I could snap my fingers and cure him, but that’s not how medicine works often times. Just because we have healing quirks doesn’t mean everything can be fixed quickly. It’s a complicated case which means that the answer is likely just as complex, but we are working on it.

I’ve already publicly stated on this blog and will do so to anyone who asks me in person- I am not going to let him die, no matter what it costs me. If I can save him, I will.

I am not afraid of him. He’s one of the kindest and sweetest people I’ve ever been fortunate enough to meet. Why would I be afraid of him?

Look: We’re talking about someone’s life. If I wasn’t qualified, I wouldn’t be on the team. It’s that simple. I work with pros every single day. 

I’m also sure that neither Ground Zero nor Deku would have a problem asking for my removal if they felt that was needed. My age has nothing to do with this.

It’s been a while, huh? We all miss you dearly, but we’re still trudging forward, like you’d want us to.

Today is a special day. The United Smash is being sold today, alongside the GZ Kick and Bunny Hop. Proceeds, as always, will be going to charities. Would never dream of taking profits from the Hero Drinks.
