One headcanon I have about young Sheev is that he was a kleptomaniac. Yes, he was a rich noble boy but everything he had belonged to his shitty abusive father. I can see him one day just getting too proud to ask his father for things. To give that man more power over him than he already had. And he starts just taking all kinds off stuff from the markets and hidden little stores in empty streets of Theed. A secret compartment in his wardrobe being filled with all sorts of junk he definitely didn't obtain by paying for it. He'd probably have more in the woods somewhere. He enjoys the idea of having things his father doesn't even know about and that belong solely to him. Most of the time it's Sith artifacts or books or speeder parts. Sometimes it's just cursed antiques that look like they've been possessed by an evil ghost. After becoming his master, Plagueis picks up Palpatine's stuff with him and Sheev is like "wait there's more" and they start a 10 minute walk into the woods and Palpatine starts unearthing 5 wooden boxes, a whole spear, a bunch of highly dangerous Sith artifacts, a droid matroshka doll, 20-30 speeder parts, a fake skull decorated with jewels, a bottle full of poison, someone's huge blaster, a tarot card game, 15 worms on a string, a small wooden sculpture of a Gungan, a model spaceship and 10 books about the force. And Plagueis just stands there like "who's going to carry all that stuff?" and Palpatine shrugs and goes "the force?" and Plagueis just sighs
