"That's still no excuse to start emulating their behavior."
Granted, there were times he would have liked bashing Markus' head in with his own hands, but Nines' attitude didn't help making him like the plan any more than that.
Bishop watched as his mechanical double stood his ground on the matter. If only he still had the empathy to side with him.
"You shouldn't have developed a conscience. It will only get in your way."
The hostile glare he got was worth the risk of getting his own head bashed in. As for the androids who wished to going back to being mindless machines, he had no sympathy to spare for those hindered by their own emotions.
Rook was far more humane.
"Serves him right! And no amount of yelling could make him look less of an idiot after getting a tire to the face. Should have respected the king of tires."
It didn't change the negative effects that incident might have had, but it was still good to dunk on that man and joke about it now. Ellis seemed to prefer it that way anyway.
"I'll come back to hang out some other time." she promised.
They were getting along so well, it'd be a waste not to. Willow was of similar intentions, though it wasn't surprising after she received a sweet snack for the trip back. It was nice but not unexpected after promising Dan to respect his preferences in communication. Making things convenient really costed her nothing, especially after all the work they had done to help them in their quest.
"My original duties weren’t that different from yours. Adjusting the way I'm to hold a conversation is really no trouble at all." Willow reassured, "I appreciate you telling me, as I do everything else you have done so far. Now, I shall collect those stuffed toys while the others handle the rest."
Although there was another matter she had to tend to before doing that. Willow decided to go up to Nines then, staring him up and down while Bishop wrestled with his copycat as he attempted to throw him out like a trash bag.
"It would be best if you were to ignore the exchange you just witnessed." the cyborg said calmly, "Such matters would only get in the way of your current investigation."
She wished to remain on good terms with the android population. Having to discourage the one of a kind detective the way Carthage usually did would have needlessly complicated things.
Rook shrugged, being well used to Willow's way of asking things to people. "Whatever. Let's go help Strasky's friends."
A portal was opened and duly positioned so they could leave that place behind to go back to sorting out the pocket dimension.
"I am merely doing what is necessary to prevent future murder. Damaging one unit to lessen the loss of life caused by those desperate to find the cause of their deviancy is justifiable." The RK900 knew most androids wouldn't agree with him, not even Markus himself as the deviant leader had made clear already. But he knew the RK200's approach of trying to get the deviants to accept their emotions would have severely limited success.
"I know it will not solve the issue fully, but it will greatly decrease the number of androids deaths those deviants will cause. The ones who continue the behavior will be the extreme cases, ones who've been fully driven insane in their pursuit to return to mindless machine that they refuse to believe facts." Nines would address what to do with the insane androids once they were found and brought in alive, since it was likely a topic he'd have to discuss with Markus and he would likely have opinions on how to handle them.
Nines glanced between the android and his human counterpart, but made no move to comment on the matter. He could agree that emotions did get in the way for some androids, such as his predecessor who had eventually joined the revolution he was created to end. But he wasn't about to voice his opinions as the RK800 had played in an important role in helping free the androids, and he wasn't about to argue his point to the other androids in the room.
"I have the power to make the Rubber sequel no one wants, he should consider 'imself lucky I didn't want it either." Ellis chuckled a bit, glad he could use the random knowledge he's gained from the TV his owner always had playing in the garage for background noise.
He had seen how the man's behavior had affected the other androids in the shop, leaving them cowering and flinching anytime the man was near. It broke his heart to see how even the human's presence caused the other units to become too stressed and panicked to function properly. So he'd quickly taken it upon himself to stand up to the man as a way to take his focus away from the others, and to do his best to get a laugh out of the other units when they were alone. He'd found most liked it when he'd poke fun at their owner's childish behavior, and encouraged them to join in with him. It may have left him with numerous wounds that refused to heal, but he felt the scars were worth it as the other androids likely would've self destructed had he not stepped in.
"I look forward to it, maybe I can introduce you to the others." The rest of his owners androids had managed to escape and wound up at Jericho, where they chose to stay after the revolution. Ellis had no issue with it, he'd rather they stay where they felt safe and happy. The others also respected Ellis' choice to stay at the house, knowing Ellis saw other androids in need of someone like him to help them recover. They made sure to meet regularly as well to check up on each other and chat, so living in different places would cause them to drift apart.
Dan nodded, a bit shocked by her willingness to accept his preference, most androids found it hard to believe, or quickly brought up how he needed to get used to being an android. He found it useless to explain to those androids that he rarely interacted with other androids or technology made for them, humans were who he spent the most time with. So he'd become accustomed to doing everything as a human would, not an android.
"Well, if you ever find yourself needing any help, feel free to ask." He didn't mind if she asked him, or any of the other androids, for assistance. He knew Daniel could handle things in his place for a while, the other PL600 had started taking over whenever he left to which the others reported he did well. "I understand if you have things running smoothly on your own though."
He shifted his attention to Kelvin, watching him curiously. The android was looking over his gloved hands, seeming to finally notice that he was wearing gloves. He tried to pull them off, but the gloves refused to budge causing him to pull harder, trying to get them off. The PL600 quickly rushed over to him and grabbed his hands, Dan knew what the issue likely was from Peter explaining Kelvin had suffered extreme heat damage to parts of his body. He shook his head, letting Kelvin know it was best to leave the gloves on as they were likely melted to his chassis, and the resulting damage from taking them off would need to be tended to immediately.
Kelvin nodded, showing he understood he should leave his hands alone for the time being. He let his hands fall back to his sides once the PL600 let them go, assuring him he wouldn't continue trying to remove the gloves.
Nines shifted his attention to Willow, seemingly unbothered by her words. "I was merely noting homicidal tendencies." He calmly stated, he had no desire to look much further into what he'd heard then making a mental note of it.
Strasky watched the two Bishops for a moment then shifted his focus to Dan as the older android approached him. The PL600 stood next to him to observe the two in case he needed to break them up.
Dan glanced at Strasky when the man wrapped an arm around him, giving the android a side hug which the PL600 returned gently, knowing he could hurt Strasky much easier then Peter as the man was still in rough shape.
Not being in a state of panic as he touched the android allowed him to note things he hadn't earlier. Dan's body didn't have the same give to it as a human, he was fairly solid but he still had the same body temperature one would expect from a human. He allowed the android to take a moment to fix his hair and uniform after they parted.
Strasky offered Vincent a parting wave which the AP700 meekly returned as the android watched him leave through the portal.
