Did the Wodensfang ever meet Hiccup the second? Because we know that Grimbeard met him, because he placed Wodensfang as the guard to the crown, but how did they meet? And did Grimbeard know any of the Wodensfang's history with Hiccup the first? A lot of this is probably just never mentioned in the books but I'm curious to see if anyone knows anything I missed

Sad we never got a Snotlout and Camicazi duo like working together to escape the alvinsmen or something while openly hating each other and insulting each other in increasingly creative ways but also both being very intelligent and working together with premium efficiency and enjoying being evil and stealing things it would've been so fun

And also sidenote I think stormfly and fireworm would diva so hard together

Personally I don't know if I'd have preferred it to be valhalarama or someone along those lines but I don't think that would have been as narratively satisfying or as tragic. His death really makes the fact that hiccup can also die real in my view and it adds to the stakes of the last book, making it sooo much darker and very heartbreakingly sad.

Yeah it's honestly really surprised me! I think it shows just how well written the books are that we all understand completely why something so tragic happened, it was the perfect narrative choice.

Sometimes I hate writing fics because what if these characters I really love and obsess over are not at all actually like how I write them and I'm completely mischaracterising them for my own selfish and corruptive means does anyone else feel this way like I think about them too much to the point I begin unjustified extrapolation from the original material and the end result is just incorrect
