atwq kinda started that “they should be at the club” trend if you think about it. except in their case it’s THEY SHOULD BE AT SCHOOL!!!
idk what movie/series the speech in this is from but its SO tb8 coded
hello I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. The anonymity of tumblr means that I associate my idea/image of you with your icon and sometimes I look at people’s icons and I’m like ‘hmmm….what is that and why?’
so pls reblog this and comment in the tags the meaning behind your icon and why you chose it. this is a social experiment. do it for science pls.

love the genre of horror that's just "the house is alive"
"alien isn't horror, it's science fiction" you do know that sci-fi and horror go hand and hand. some science fiction horror movies to prove my point: the thing (1982), frankenstein (1931), re-animator (1985), invansion of the body snatchers (1956), the fly (1958)! these are all science-fiction horror films, a film does not have to adhere to one genre, but it's nice if companies in the 1900s labelled them both as its stated
which brings me onto another point, TWILIGHT ZONE IS ALSO HORROR! it's a mix of horror, i remember seeing someone in my tags say "this is giving twilight zone vibes and that's not horror" it literally is though, i mean some of the most well known horror movies are derived from twilight zone episodes. final destination and poltergeist are two. the series is a mixture of three genres: fantasy, science-fiction, and horror
trick or treat!!!🎉
happy halloween !! handing this to you

this halloween was different. this halloween we knew better.
A journalist stationed at a Gaza hospital who has been able to make a call via his Turkish sim:
"We’re in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. We have no idea what’s happening. There’s no connection, no Wi-Fi, no reporters. We’re cut off from everything.. People can’t call ambulances or civil defense. We are being bombed in an unprecedented manner. The sky around us just lights up [with explosions], and no one knows what’s going on. You can’t reach anyone, even if they’re only 500 meters away. Ambulances and medics are begging reporters to let them know which streets are getting bombarded to go rescue the victims but the reporters themselves don’t know where anything is happening [because of the connection loss]. We are trying to report the news but we have no idea what’s happening.”
@thefinaljediknight, thanks for the tag!
Last reads: I've just finished 'Dune' by Frank Herbert and I really enjoyed it. There's such a pervasive sense of doom throughout the entire book.
Current reads: Nearly done with 'Als ich ein kleiner Junge war' (meaning 'When I was a little boy', there seems to be no English version) by Erich Kästner. A super heart-felt and witty memoir.
Next reads: Spooky season is upon us, so I'll pick up the one creepy book from my TBR, which is 'The White Dominican' by Gustav Meyrink. And I need to check out some horror fanfiction.
Tagging: @al-val-meadow, @volunteerfelinedetectives, @snowdropnature, @dragoneyes618, @cleverqueencommander, @jacobsnicket, @acacia-may, @virginian-wolfsnake, @wimplee, @insane-author, and anyone I forgot and/or feels free to join. 😊
@library-child thank you for the tag !!
Last reads: I finished the hooky graphic novels by Míriam Bonastre Tur
Current reads: IT by Stephen King (it’s so long and uses so much outdated language help)
Next reads: Probably gonna be something in the horror genre but I’m not sure what yet
No pressure tagging: @magnus-rhymes-with-swagness @memento-fugaces @lemonysnicket and anyone else who’d like to join <3
thank you for the tag!! last read: i recently read "the republic of birds" by jessica miller, a middle grade book set in a fantastical russian inspired setting where humans and birds live in separate countries and young yagas are sent to a mysterious school on "the bleak steppes." it was a really fun read! 13 year old weird girls are the best protagonists forever and always.
current reads: i'm reading W;t by Margaret Edson in class, and it's a brilliant play. i'm also slowly getting through the road, though it's. taking a while. it's very bleak! but it's really good. i was about to say i'm enjoying it but i don't think i am. i do like it though
next reads: i just started brave new world by huxley, but i'm putting it here on next reads because it's on the backburner until i finish the road for school, and i only got a chapter or so in before putting it on pause. i just got that and wildwood from the library, and i'm excited to read both :]
tagging: @snckt @acesophiewalten @kitsnicket @olivia-calidamn @accidentallylita , and anyone who wants to ! obligatory no pressure to anyone i tagged. happy reading !
thank you quill!!
Last read: Solitaire by Alice Oseman. I wanted to know more about Tori, because she seemed pretty cute when I watched Heartstopper for Z :)
Current reads: I’m still going on Playing Beatie Bow for nostalgia’s sake, and I’m rereading Macbeth because Lady Mac is so fun and I love her forever
Next reads: I’m thinking about retrying The Tempest because it wasn’t my favourite first time round … any other suggestions??
Tagging @echoingrainydays, @picklebrinedgoblinmind, @volunteerfelinedetectives, @virginian-wolfsnake, and @flanneryculp :D
thanks for the tag! ^-^
last read: the premature burial by edgar allen poe. we're doing a reenactment of it in my theater group for halloween which has been going great so far. we did have to cut a lot out for time but i read through the entire story first. i think i've read it before but poe is always worth rereading :)
currently reading: the october country by ray bradbury. LOVE it! it reminds me of those scary stories to tell in the dark books that meant so much to me when i was nine. he uses such vivid descriptions and the stories are the perfect mix of fun and offputting, it's fantastic. definitely recommend.
next read: right now i have aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe by benjamin alire saenz on the table next to me. i heard about it from olivia so i'm really excited to get into it. i don't know much about it; i like to dive into books as blind as i can be.
tags: @ellington-f3int @thestaindfiles @uncannyandi @cathyleighdoll @bitter-lemon-tree
thanks for the tag!! <3
last read: the haunting of hill house by shirley jackson! eleanor vance is now one of my top 10 Literally Me characters ever she’s SO relatable (reverting to a childish personality after being forced to grow up too fast, scared of loud noises, unhinged, lesbian)
current read: the handmaid’s tale by margaret atwood. i have to read it for my english class and i’ve only read a little bit so far but i like it! absolutely love margaret atwood <33
next read: the divine comedy by dante!! i read part of it as a child and it permanently mentally scarred me and made me convinced i was going to hell lmao. right now im working on a writing project about religious trauma and i want to include some dante allusions for both the Catholiccore™ aesthetic and because his work is so important to literature as a whole
