“Thanks for hosting, by the way. S’nice to see everyone in the same room for once.”

“Oh yeah no problem, happy to do it. Just glad I got the night off.”

“Sure, all for the importance of tone. But I’m pretty sure most of my paintings could probably be improved by a lightsaber battle in the background.”

“I mean, do you really need a reason to put lightsabers in your video? Kinda speak for themselves, don’t they? Any video could use a good lightsaber battle montage.”

“You can buy them at most toy stores now. Or y’know if you’re in a pinch I’ve got like five. May have gone on a bit of an obsessive streak before Force Awakens came out.”

“I agree with that review, by the way. Henry was disappointed by the lack of light saber battles.”

“Henry and I may have gone on a little spree last weekend, and it’s come to my attention that there is a troubling lack of Star Wars themed videos. So, on behalf of both of us, what gives?”

Alice hadn’t spent twenty minutes getting ready because that would be ridiculous. It was just the boys (she really needed to invite Marls and Mary over for the next fam event just to add some estrogen) and she saw them all the time. Plus, she probably didn’t need to impress Frank. And Benjy kept walking past her room and giving her the ‘I was so right about you two’ look she’d definitely have to get used to receiving. 

Moral of the story, she’d definitely not changed twice and redone her makeup three times before settling on sweatpants and eyeliner. It was just the boys. She was overreacting. They were making pasta and garlic bread, for fucks sake.

“Please leave the Jack in the car, Ke$ha,” she could hear Remus saying. “There will be other booze. Oh, ‘lo Frank, Kingsley.”

“You look tired. Doing alright?” Kingsley said, and Alice gestured for Benjy to get the door as she began pulling down the least breakable cups.

First family dinner after getting back. First with Kingsley too. And first with Frank and Alice as a couple. That was a good way of getting back into the swing of things. After that break with Tristan breathing down his neck Benjy really needed this. 

“Don’t stop Keshaing on our account,” Benjy said as he opened the door, “Good timing!” They had all shown up at the same time. Though Benjy was a little surprised Frank hadn’t come by early to hang out with Alice. But that was his business. 

“See? You want some?” Sirius offered over the bottle.

“What am I supposed to do, stroll over there and just go, ‘hello Frank let’s make out’? I suppose Frank’s the one who made us FBO but I still don’t want him to bolt. Oh, they don’t do that already?”

“We’ve kissed, like, once! It’s way too soon! He’s gonna scare Frank off and then I’ll never get to kiss him again. He likes you, make him stop? If they are dating how would we even know? They’d probably not act any differently.”

“Apparently Kingsley has already claimed best man for the wedding, which I feel is getting a bit ahead of himself. We’ve barely been on two dates! Still, you deserve someone good. Eventually. When you’re ready. Those two are honestly so weird about each other.”

“You’re never going to let that part go are you? I mean, I won’t if you don’t want me to obviously but you deserve someone truly delightful, just like you. Oh, that’s still happening? Sorry, goodness, that sounded really rude.”

“We are, we really are, I can hardly believe it. Oh, I don’t know either. We gotta find you someone to get stupid over eventually, I can’t be this silly by myself.”

“Yeah you definitely are. Which is awesome and I was still totally right. But why? I am happy being single Benjy! Just chat with Remus or Sirius?” 

“We’ve only been on one date! …We’re meeting for tea tomorrow, though. Am I supposed to be this nervous for every date? Oh, goodness.”

“One official date. And besides your facebook official now so it’s real. Um, I don’t know? Maybe?” 

“Same, really. Teag was getting insufferable towards the end and Mom kept trying to casually bring Frank into every conversation.”

“Oh yeah? Well isn’t that they first time you’ve got a boyyyfriend so there you go?”
